About

The Rock and Glass Journey

My journey started in my late teens. I have always been interested in creating interesting items. My first creations that I sold were in the early "70s which were macrame hair barretts with beads, small bells and feather centers. I have done painting with oils, bake able clay items and beading. Lapidary then came into play. I remember the UPS person asking what was in the 2 boxes being delivered which I replied 50 lbs of rocks. He laughed and said "ROCKS." With my Lortone 3 in 1 machine I started cutting, shaping and polishing my rocks. Of course I had to read and educate myself about agate, chalcedony, tiffany and picaso stones. I had already been wire wrapping stones for about 2 years at that time. One Christmas under the tree from my husband was a box of rocks and it was the best present that year. Then I discovered glass, I got my first kiln about 10 years ago and started experimenting with fused glass and then discovered dichroic glass. The creativity juices just kept flowing. I have just learned how to solder and just cannot wait to see where this journey will lead. Using stones, glass, metal and vintage silverware my creations have a wide range of admirers. I have sold my items at craft fairs in Montana, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Through Etsy my items have traveled to Ireland, Canada, Australia, Hawaii and throughout the USA. The best part of my journey is yet to come.
