Tara Catalano is an emerging painter and graphic artist passionate about self-transformation through artistic empowerment. Philosophical and spiritual teachers have influenced her artwork and have become the backbone to her holistic lifestyle and intuitive approach to painting.

Tara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University where she studied the technical fundamentals and design elements associated with painting and drawing. In 2007, she discovered the transformational and healing qualities of the creative process when she used painting to transform her life.

Tara fell in love with the forgiving characteristics of acrylic paint. Thick applications of paint and the addition of found objects such as recycled jewelry and papers are trademark elements of her work. Raw brushstrokes, texture, organic shapes and symbols arise from the surface as she paints intuitively without sketches or forced objectives. As a result, her paintings become translations of her inner spirit, emotions, and personal healing.

Tara’s unique original paintings and prints can be found online, in retail shops, yoga studios and art galleries in the metropolitan Phoenix area. When Tara isn’t painting, she can be found hiking or biking the desert trails with her young son, meditating, or day dreaming about traveling to far away spiritual destinations.
