Heirloom-Quality Handcrafted Jewelry
Custom jewelry has been a focus of mine since 2005, starting with Swarovski crystals, then chainmaille, and then finally leading to Miyuki Delicas today. I also spent several years dot painting, as a maker and also as an instructor (online and in person).
I find colors and textures mesmerizing, and--like making chainmaille--the act itself of crafting is a form of stimming that brings me a sense of peace and comfort. I was formally diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder (Asperger's) and inattentive ADHD in 2020, at age 52. Over my lifetime, autism has made it difficult for me to communicate in ways other people expect. It's also made it difficult for me to socialize with others and to connect with people in any meaningful way, even if we have a lot in common.
Art is a way for me to put myself "out there" and enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded artists around the world. With Etsy as a medium, I have also connected with thousands of amazing customers whose support I am so incredibly grateful for. Making art here on Etsy is my full-time job, and it's the best job I could ever hope for.
Thank you for shopping small, supporting mine and all the other Etsy artists' shops who are making a living by creating one-of-a-kind unique finds.

Frequently asked questions
Sizing
HOW TO MEASURE: Use a flexible tape measure and wrap it snugly around your wrist and/or ankle. Or, wrap a string around your wrist and/or ankle, and then measure it with a ruler.
A general rule of thumb is to add 1 inch to your wrist/ankle size when choosing the length to order, since my measurements include the clasp.
For more precise measurements:
Add 0.5" for thin, dainty bracelets
Add 1" for medium, average-thickness bracelets
Add 1.5" for thick, chunky bracelets
AVERAGES FOR WOMEN:
Bracelets - 7.5 inches
Necklaces - 18 inches
Anklets - 9 inches
Most of my bracelets automatically are sized at 7.5", but I'm happy to make them any length you need -- simply include a note with your order with any special requests.
Please Note: Handcrafted Means Unique
Due to the handcrafted nature of my designs, and the fact that every item is made at the time an order is placed, each will be unique. No two items are exactly alike and they may be slightly different than the product photos. This includes clasps and ear wires, as I am limited by the supplies I am able to procure at any given time. Every attempt will be made to make the product you receive be as close as possible to the product photo.
Customs and International Taxes
The shipping label will comply with your country's applicable laws, including describing contents and their actual price, if necessary.
Buyers are responsible for brokerage fees, import and customs duties, Value Added Taxes ("VAT"), tariffs, and any other associated fees. Customers are also responsible for international duties, taxes and refused shipping charges.
Returns
Please follow these steps:
1.) Contact me via Etsy messaging within 7 days of delivery to state your intent to return.
2.) I prefer the return be shipped using USPS 1st-class package services, which includes tracking. If you use a different shipping provider, make sure it provides tracking.
3.) My address:
The Chained Dragon
604 E Front St, #1706
Clayton, NC 27520
4.) Send me the tracking number and the shipping provider through an Etsy message.
5.) Once I receive the package, the return will be processed. PLEASE NOTE: Non-defective returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and reimbursement for my postage, which will reduce any refund due you.
Coupon Code Use
Orders with coupon codes used wrongfully or fraudulently will be immediately canceled and refunded.
Communication
All buyer/seller communications must go through Etsy's internal messaging system. If a buyer sends me a direct email, I will respond via Etsy's messaging system, not via email. This is for both my and the buyer's protection.
Custom and personalized orders
All custom orders must be paid in full, up front, prior to any work starting. Custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged, and no refunds will be given due to the personalized nature of such an order.
