What a super cute fruit protector as always! This one will be a present for G's elder niece, so she can be the even coolest girl in her class!! Thank you so much Tom, and have a great time watching Dolly Parton! <3

I love it! It's possibly even nicer than the picture suggested. It zipped around my freakishly large apple. It will be almost disappointing to eat the apple now. Thanks for getting it to me so quickly!

About

Teapot Magpie: original, handmade and independent.

Welcome to the Teapot Magpie shop! It’s a showcase of fun and functional accessories for people and places. Original designs, handmade for you to enjoy every day.

I've been working with yarn and fabric for over fifteen years, and designing and making accessories for over ten. I love being able to turn an idea into an object; selling what I make is a rewarding experience every time, and one for which I am always thankful.

Flowers, fruits and vegetables are the main source of inspiration for my work; there’s something in the colours and shapes that you find in plants and produce that fuels my creativity. I think that I work best when I work with nature in both figurative and literal ways, and my choice to work primarily with sustainable natural materials reflects this; I limit the use of the synthetic to where it is essential.

I use a sense of fun to balance form and function in my work; everything is both pretty and practical, and will last for ages. I've tried to test each of my designs to destruction without success – the materials I use and my artisanship have survived everything I've tried to throw at them!

I also apply over a decade’s worth of customer service and administration experience to the running of Teapot Magpie, so you may expect helpful and knowledgeable professional service throughout your experience.

Why buy handmade? The artisanal shouldn't have to ‘fight for a rightful place’ alongside the mass-produced. We made with our hands long before we made with machines, and every time you buy handmade and make it a part of your everyday – every day – it’s a proud vote of confidence in the creativity, skill and sustainability of independent businesses, makers and sellers.

Payment is due immediately upon completion of a sale and must be completed within three (3) calendar days of the date of purchase, where the date on which the purchase took place counts as day one (1). Teapot Magpie will not accept payment by invoice or cheque.
Shipping
- Dispatch

Items purchased from Teapot Magpie are typically dispatched within three (3) working days of purchase, where the date on which the purchase took place counts as day one (1), and following the expiry of the 'a day to decide' 'cooling off period', unless otherwise indicated in the item's description, which will override this policy. You will be contacted as soon as possible in the event that there is an issue with the dispatch of your item.

- Delivery address

Goods sold by Teapot Magpie will only be sent to the address provided by the system* at the time the sale is completed following the successful receipt of payment, for security reasons. Buyers are reminded that is their responsibility to maintain a complete and accurate record of their address where applicable. Goods sold by Teapot Magpie will never be sent to an alternative address in order to reduce the possibility of the item being declared lost in transit.

*Here, the term 'system' refers to any third party website that facilitates sale and/or payment, such as Etsy or PayPal and for which, typically, confirmation of buyer identity/postal address has taken place.

- Customs

Where appropriate for addresses outside the UK, customs labels will be completed and attached to the item's packaging. Please note that this may contain a description of the item contained, which you are asked to bear in mind if you are buying an item as a gift for someone based at the same address as you.

If, at the time of posting to an address outside the UK, it is discovered that the payment of additional customs fees are required, the transaction will be aborted and the buyer contacted in order to pay for these fees. In the event that a buyer refuses to pay these fees, the transaction will be declared void and the buyer will receive a refund for the cost of the item minus minus any and all Etsy and PayPal fees incurred by Teapot Magpie as a result of the transaction, as these are not refunded to the seller in the event of a sale cancellation.

If, upon the receipt of an item sold by Teapot Magpie outside the UK, it is found that there are customs fees due, the buyer agrees to be entirely responsible for paying these and that they will not actively seek compensation/remuneration for these at any time from Teapot Magpie, nor will they engage or instruct any third party(ies) to do so on their behalf.

- Registered post/insurance

Typically, postage options with tracking and/or confirmation of delivery come with insurance that covers the full value of the item being sent. If you would like to insure your purchase against damage and/or loss in transit, it is heavily recommended that you select an appropriate postage upgrade, where applicable.

All items with a sale price of up to £19.99 have the option to be sent using a service that advertises tracking and/or confirmation; its selection is up to the buyer. Please note that, for postage outside the UK, tracking and/or confirmation of delivery are not guaranteed by the postal service unless indicated in the applicable postage upgrade.

All items with a sale price of £20.00 or higher are automatically sent using a service that advertises tracking and/or confirmation of delivery; please note that, for postage outside the UK, tracking and/or confirmation of delivery are not guaranteed by the postal service unless indicated in the applicable postage upgrade.

Upgrades to postage with tracking and/or confirmation of delivery cannot be applied retrospectively to a purchase where this was not selected at the time said purchase was made.

- Proof of posting

Proof of posting will be obtained for each instance of posting; a copy of this can be e-mailed to you at no extra charge, following a request sent in writing to goods.services [at] teapotmagpie [dot] com, placing 'request for proof of posting' in the subject line. Please wait for the dispatch of your item to be confirmed before placing such a request. You will typically receive your proof of posting within twenty-four (24) hours, but may take up to forty-eight (48).

Additional policies and FAQs
- Product representation in photography

Teapot Magpie will endeavour to provide an accurate photographic representation of the products on sale, working within the limitations of available resources and techniques at the time of production. Buyers must note that stock photographs will be used for new items fabricated to established specifications and that, due to the small-scale fabrication processes employed in the making of products for sale on Teapot Magpie, there may be some degree of variation between these new products and those previously produced. This is inherent to many handmade products and is typically both expected and accepted.

The term 'Teapot Magpie' may be used in any and all policies to refer to any part(s) of the endeavour, the endeavour as a whole or in place of the individual ultimately responsible for this endeavour.

The terms 'item', 'product' and their plural forms are used interchangeably in Teapot Magpie goods and services policies and item descriptions and are used for indicative purposes only, referring to any item(s) sold by Teapot Magpie.
