Some of it is verbatim and some is paraphrased. I don't intend to pass this off as my work.

Be bold! Wear a piece of American history.

Saving History One Piece At A Time

Did you realize newly engaged couples don’t “register” for silver patterns any more? Did you know that silver plate flatware has not been manufactured in the USA since 1992? My name is Elsa, and at Tempest in a Teapot and Silver Flat Wear we provide a solution for what to do with your family heirlooms by preserving a piece of American history.

Most people don’t know what to do with the silver pieces that have been handed down through their families. The younger generations don’t want to be bothered polishing place settings for 8 - 12. Enter Tempest in a Teapot. We take vintage silverware and re-purpose it into wearable art and wind chimes.

Wearable art? Yes. The original designs for flatware were designed by talented craftspeople and are actually small works of art. A lot of sterling silver patterns have been sold by families and melted down for scrap. How sad to lose all that craftsmanship. At Tempest in a Teapot, we take that craftsmanship and preserve it for current and future family members to enjoy without all the upkeep.

When you wear our jewelry, people will be amazed that it used to be “flat”ware. It pairs well with any style of clothing from jeans to wedding gowns. Our Angel Bells have been our most popular piece ever. With the help of our wholesale partners, the Angel Bells are owned by tens of thousands of people and we have shipped our products to 4 of 7 continents.

Contact us. A bracelet, a ring, a pair of earrings. What better way to celebrate your family’s history? If you no long have your family’s silver, no worries. We may have your pattern or you can choose one of ours. Either way, you will be saving a piece of history.
