About

a lifetime of designing on a computer, and here we are

I started my shop in 2009 and called it Ten Tiny Toes Designs - after striking out when trying to find the perfect birth announcement for my son, I came up with my own. I had so much fun designing his that I offered to do a few more for friends. The name of the shop came from the ten tiny toes on my son's cute feet. In 2014, I rebranded my shop to Waterview Design.

I've been designing on a computer since I was in elementary school. (I think I used this "PrintMaker" program on our Windows 3.1 PC - it was a classic!) Although my designs have evolved from the initial birthday banners and holiday calendars I made, I still get the same joy from designing now as I did then. Design is more just than a hobby for me, in college I earned a minor in Art. I love to listen to your wishes and deliver a design that makes you smile.

Hi! I'm so glad you stopped by. I create custom designs announcing your baby, your wedding, a birthday, a holiday greeting, or just for fun! I started Waterview Design in 2009 after striking out when finding the perfect birth announcement for my oldest son. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Every finished product in my Etsy shop is designed by me. I occasionally purchase clip art from other great Etsy shops to use (with permission) in my designs. The designs you purchase are yours to print, for as many copies as you need, for your own personal use. You may not sell my digital files, give them away, or share them with others. (Please see full details on restrictions of use below.)

I always love to see my designs once you print them - if possible, send me a photo once you have them printed!

Refunds and Exchanges
If you purchase a custom digital file listing and realize you've missed something after the final proof, I can make changes to your design and resend it to you at no cost. I am not responsible for the cost you incurred printing your items. Also, each design has a small "bleed" area built in around the edges. This is a blank space around the edges that is able to be trimmed off by your printer so we don't lose any of the "good" parts of the design.

If I'm doing the printing for you, items are not changeable and non-refundable once you've agreed to the final proof and they've been sent to my professional printer. All items are shipped with delivery confirmation to ensure they make it to you.

All sales are final once I have sent the design to you via the email address you provide. Please understand that I'm sending you my intellectual property in the form of a printable design, and I have no way of knowing how you've used the image I've sent once it's left my email outbox.

Please remember that all computer monitors are different, and the colors in the final printed version may vary slightly from the colors you see on your screen. Thanks!

SELF-PRINTING TIPS AND TRICKS
-------------------------------------------------
{Lessons learned from my years of trial and error}

- I do *not* recommend using an office supply store (ie. Kinkos, Staples, etc.) to print your images. They do a fine job for copies, but not such a great job with photos and the file I will send you is a .jpg photo file.

- I do recommend using the photo labs at Walmart, Sam's Club, or Costco for budget-friendly printing of your artwork or prints. They "develop" their photos rather than "print" them, so they will be great quality. You can use CVS, Walgreens, or Target, but your quality will be lower (they "print" the photos).

- If you want your artwork or invites printed on card stock, check out persnicketyprints.com - I love them. Their site can be a bit overwhelming, but start with "Upload Photos".

- The invites and birth announcements are set up as 5x7s, if you need envelopes, you'll want "A7" envelopes - they're just a tiny bit bigger than the cards themselves. We have them around here at craft and office supply stores. (They just take one stamp to mail.)

- When uploading your image to the photo printer's website, be sure to upload it at full resolution (don't do the "quick upload" or "fast upload").

- If your photo printer says something about the image not being at a "recommended resolution for printing", just ignore it, as long as you've uploaded it at the full resolution, the photo is a super high resolution.

- When uploading your file, if your photo printer has an option to "correct color" or "auto-fix color", make sure that's turned off, sometimes those auto color fixes will ruin the colors of your images.

- If your photo printer wants you to crop your image, go through the crop process but make sure the entire image area is selected (ie. don't crop anything out of the image).

Please let me know if you have questions with printing your own cards, I'm more than happy to help!
