It arrived in plenty of time and was EXACTLY what I wanted. The quintessential pussy hat. I love it! I got two.

Awesome hat! Thank you so much for making this custom gem for my very supportive guy. It's the only thing he wanted for Valentines Day.

This was better than expected and worn proudly at the Women's March in Raleigh NC. The quality is great!

Spent Christmas Eve knitting up some Pussy Hats for the Women's March on Washington with some beautiful pink yarn I scored at the Lion Brand outlet. 20% will go to Planned Parenthood.
Even though it doesn't begin to make a dent in my bags and bags of leftover yarn, it gives me so much satisfaction to make something special using some of it.
Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. talking about my hat on his new show Harry. The hat was auctioned and the highest bid was $1,025 for Baton Rouge Habitat for Humanity.

It all changed at the end of December 2005

I really wish I could remember how I first heard about Etsy. Nobody knew about it when I joined, so I can't imagine who told me about it, or what possessed me to sign up. I was a crocheter and knitter at the time, and had so much stuff already made that I didn't know what to do with, and I think I just wanted an outlet to sell the stuff I was making, because I was going to make it anyway.

On September 15, 2016 I was an audience member at Harry Connick, Jr.'s new talk show "Harry." But because I crocheted a hat while in the audience holding room, I got to be interviewed on the show, and my hat ended up being auctioned off to raise funds for the floods in Louisiana. The final auction bid was $1,025. How amazing is that? The whole thing was an absolute blast and I'm so honored and touched that my hat raised money for such a good cause. You can see a snippet of the show here: https://www.facebook.com/harryconnickjr/videos/10154423774015539/.

My real love though is theater. I love to perform and I've been fairly successful at it at times. Sometimes I think that if I spent as much time on my career as I do on my Etsy business I might actually have a career. But at the moment Etsy is giving back more than my career is, so for now, I'm dedicating more time to being here.

I do most of my crocheting on my commute. I take a glorious express bus ride into Manhattan many times a week and I am with iPad usually watching the previous night's Rachel Maddow show and crocheting. It's heaven for me, except when the person behind me is talking on their cellphone. I love being so productive on my commute, and it keeps me from getting impatient when we're sitting in traffic.

My beautiful one bedroom apartment looks like a yarn store exploded in it. There is yarn everywhere. I have a huge yarn closet, but that's not nearly enough for my stash. It's a little bit ridiculous. I really try to use the stuff I already have, but there are so many amazing yarns out there, and sometimes when you're away from home, and you see something, you just have to have it. You know what I mean?

Thanks so much for reading. I would love it if you would check out my little shop: http://tepperwear.etsy.com

Who knew when I joined Etsy at the end of 2005 it, and crochet, would become such an important part of my life. I do this as a hobby, but I take my craft and my little business very seriously.

Hey. Thanks so much for stopping by. Feel free to contact me about anything. If you see a hat that you love but don't see it in a color you love I can probably make it. If your head is particularly small or large or if you have dreadlocks or lots of curls, let me know and I'll make you a hat.

Refunds and Exchanges
Returns make me sad, but if the hat doesn't fit (and let's face it, all head sizes are not created equal) I will take it back for a full refund. Just send me a convo and send the hat back within 15 days. I will send you a refund through whichever payment processor you used as soon as I receive the returned item(s). I will also be happy to try another go-round if the hat doesn't fit and you would like me to try again. I do ask that when you repackage the hat that you please not fold the brim, but rather lie the hat flat, the way it was when you received it. I really appreciate it.

Returns on custom orders are up to the discretion of TepperWear.

Frequently asked questions

Can you add a lining to my hat?

I'm afraid not. For one thing I don't sew, and for another, my items are not tightly knit/crocheted. Even if I did sew, attaching a lining to a chunky knit item just wouldn't work.
