A Love for Nature Fires My Love for Color

I founded Teton Yarn Company because I love to knit with color; the brighter, the better. Unable to find the colors I wanted to work with for yarns, I took a dye class at the Snake River Fiber Fair in 2008. From this single class, my love for dyeing was born.

My first dye studio was my kitchen using the microwave and a crockpot to set my first dye experiments. Nothing was safe from my first dye experiments. Unsure where to buy yarns for dyeing, I scoured clearance baskets at yarn stores and goodwill stores for skeins of yarn.

Nature has always been my primary source of inspiration for color. Wyoming Sunset was my first success at capturing a brilliant summer sunset over the Wyoming Wind River Mountains. Glacier Bay was born from an Alaskan cruise into the national park of the same name.

My dyeing process has evolved from those mad scientist dye experiments to a full fledge dye studio in the heart of the Grand Tetons. Please join me on my amazing dye journey through the grandeur and beauty of the American West. I never know where it is going to take me next.
