Unique Nature Photography

I find photography extremely relaxing, something amazing that can be done anywhere and at any time! The ability to capture a moment and make it meaningful makes photography such a powerful art.

When I was 15 years old I received a smartphone and would play with the camera on it and take photos of flowers and clouds, even though my images were flat out bad now that I look back at them, they were the spark of a passion I would soon start to develop. After about a year or so I received my first DSLR, and started improving my skills and techniques, but I had no specific focus on subjects, this camera was what truly got my photography started, fast forward 2 more years and I purchased my first camera on my own, this more advanced camera allowed me to fine tune my style and let me work a little faster, but for some reason I had not found "the subjects" I liked to photograph, I was very good at flower photography but had no real macro lens so I used a set of filters and a prime lens to get close with decent results, by this point I was already selling multiple images on Etsy. Living in Miami, there were no breathtaking landscapes or variations in geography, the closest drive to find mountains is about 12 hours away. Eventually I decided that my large camera was too big for me to take everywhere, I wanted a camera that would be fun to use and could fit in a small bag or in my car's arm rest to take everywhere. After lots of saving I bought a professional Fujifilm, and fell instantly in love, the way the camera worked allowed me to reach full potential and have so much fun with my photography,a couple months after getting the camera, I bought a 2:1 macro lens, I had finally found my specialty in photography.

My nature photography allows me to show what the world looks like from the viewpoint of a small insect, to show the hidden details that we can't see with our eyes, transforming tiny flowers into huge valleys and structures makes macro photography so rewarding for me, the huge challenge of lighting, wind and getting into strange positions to capture an image make each shot unique and turns itself into a story. The most challenging part is getting correct focus, since I hand hold the camera for each shot to get multiple perspectives at low angles, the smallest movement or breeze will make the whole image go out of focus, but I love every minute I spend with my camera outdoors!

Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that these are only guidelines. Packages can sometimes take a bit longer to arrive under the following conditions: increased volume of mail around the holidays, delays at customs, and inclement weather. It can also take longer for packages to arrive in certain countries such as Australia and countries in Africa, Asia and South America.

Q: How is your work printed?
-All my work is professionally printed by a photo lab, using state-of-the-art large format photo printers that provide the sharpest and most detailed quality prints available, on professional photographic papers for highest quality. Therefore, my prints are not signed in the back and include a very small sort and order number on the back of each print (not visible from the front).
Q: How long until my prints arrive?
-Depending where you live, prints may take a few extra days to deliver (or less), but expect your prints to arrive in about 1 week (more or less) from the date of purchase. Checking your tracking number is the best way to stay updated on your print's location. I cannot guarantee an order to arrive before a specified date, but I try my absolute best to ship out orders as fast as possible.
Q: Can I purchase your work to resell?
-Please be mindful of my work, it is my pride and hard work. My photos cannot be resold or used commercially. If you have any questions, please send me a private message. My work is copyrighted, so please be kind with it!
Q: Do you accept custom orders?
- Do not be discouraged to ask for a custom print, if you want a print in a specific size, or in black and white or modified slightly, I can accommodate for that. A message would be the best way to let me know but only if you are serious about purchasing a print as I work very hard to satisfy everyone :).
Q: Do you license your images for commercial use?
- Yes, I am open to having my most of my images used for commercial use for a minimum of a year. If you are interested, please email me for more information or send me a message via Etsy.

Frequently asked questions
How are images changed for different print sizes?

Certain images are cropped in aspect ratio for best fit on to the photo paper as a way to avoid any undesirable stretching or distortion. I adjust the images myself to ensure the image looks great on any paper size. If you would like a preview of an image on a certain dimension/paper size or a wall color just send me a message and I will send you a preview at no cost.

How are your images printed?

Image printing is done by my trusted photo lab, which has numerous professional grade printers and uses the highest quality photo papers and printing processes to ensure the best quality. I print with the highest quality materials only, as I know how drastic the image quality is from a professional lab compared to your average department store/pharmacy printing.

Custom listings?

I can create custom listings for you if you desire, I can do basic modifications to images such as black/white changes, adding text etc. Please contact me via message as certain changes can change the price of an item.

I can print images in any common print size you would like (if the size isn't available on the listing), if you would like a canvas or different print material please contact me for further information.

Are all these images taken by you?

Yes! All images you see on my Etsy store are taken by myself during various trips to parks, forests, gardens and different states. All images are proud works of mine and are only for sale through my Etsy store.

How can I stay updated with you?

While I regularly update my Etsy shop with upcoming images, you can check out my new instagram @andrethaiss to stay updated with my latest prints and behind the scenes.

Why are your images printed from a lab?

The reason I use a professional lab for printing my images is because it allows me to offer a range of endless photo paper sizes and types of papers to have images printed on to. Added the fact that my lab uses professional quality large format printers that surpass the quality of any home printer or pharmacy printing, and the ability to ship all photos in the best protective packages provides only benefits, both to me and more importantly you!

When I click on images they appear small?

To prevent images from being reused and to protect my work, the image previews I use are smaller to prevent the need for any watermarks that detract from an image. The files I used to actually print my images are 5 times bigger than what you see on the previews, and of higher quality.
