Minature Golf Leads To Life Of Creativity And Learning
When we agreed to meet on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend we had little inkling of the creative adventure that would ensue. Now in its fifty fifth year it has been a trip that has been varied, exciting, and filled with new experiences and learning experiences. Best of all, we have had the privilege of meeting many interesting and creative fellow travelers. And the best is yet to come.
We are at the point in life where we have been able to leave the day-to-day workforce and establish our own studio in our home. We are now free to pursue our interests in art, glass blowing, enameling, precious metal clay, metal smithing, and photography. Coupled with interests in antiques and re-purposing of obsolete objects, we find our days filled and satisfying.
We love to travel hunting for antiques for use in the items we create and sell and locations for photos. Believing that learning is a lifelong experience we often travel to attend seminars and workshops. Destinations have included specialized classes at the the annual Bead & Button show and classes at Arrowmont in Gatlingburg, Tennessee and William Holland School in Young Harris Georgia.
Most of our work is collaborative using the strengths of the both of us to produce our work. We have learned that ideas do not confine themselves to "working hours" so we often have discussions at hours that are more conventionally considered for sleeping, eating, or driving. Each morning is the beginning of a new and exciting day. We usually plan our day but seldom does it turn out as we expected. But it is always fun. We figure that any day we learn something is a good day and we have lots of good days.
The items you get from us are the products of two people who enjoy being together, working together, and undoubtedly had a good time making it. And we thank you for considering us and our work.
