All my life, I've enjoyed creating jewelry. Everything from simple friendship bracelets made from embroidery thread, to complex necklaces and bracelets using wire and beads. To create any piece I could dream of to my own specifications was a great joy to me.

Several years ago, I decided to try selling my jewelry online. At the time, my mother, Barbara, asked me to teach her some of my jewelry making skills, and she was hooked instantly. We decided to go into business together and in June 2009, we opened our shop, FineArtReflections.

For 4 years, we worked hard to build up our shop. We experienced many ups and downs over that time. The excitement the first month we earned a profit, dealing with the craziness of the holiday rush, arguing over new jewelry ideas, and suffering through the most stressful time of the year… taxes. Even when things were at their craziest, we greatly enjoyed our work together and the time we got to spend with each other everyday.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to last forever. In April of 2013, Mom was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Unfortunately, the disease had progressed too far by that point, and she passed away that following July. The thought of running our shop without her was unbearable, so I closed down, believing that FineArtReflections was done forever.

Nearly a year later, I’ve realized that Mom would’ve wanted nothing more than for me to continue with the work that we started together, and that the best way to honor her memory, is to keep alive the dream we shared of owning our own business.

Before she became ill, my mom discovered a passion for digital artwork. She would use Photoshop to create beautiful portraits. She used many styles such as fantasy, modern and vintage. She often had so many wonderful ideas, that she didn’t know which to work on first.

As a way of honoring her, I’ve found a way to include her artwork into my jewelry. Many of the pieces in my shop feature one of my mom’s original prints. Each image is set under a glass dome, inside of a gunmetal setting. Each one is very special to me, and I hope that you find them just as beautiful as I do.
