' A simple story about simple art born of the heart'.

I am a self-taught artist who has been married for 33 years and has 2 grown daughters. Natalie, my oldest daughter, is a second assistant cinematographer in Los Angels and her youngest daughter, Mary Kathryn is a film major at Alabama. Recently we moved from our hometown of Birmingham Alabama to Little Rock Arkansas.

From a young child I loved to draw and tell stories. However I lacked confidence to pursue my dreams of becoming an artist and a writer so instead I majored in Social Work. Later I went back to graduate school to become a teacher and it is while teaching second grade that my desires for art and writing began to resurface. Several years later I took a local drawing class and from there I taught herself to paint. I combine my love of story telling and art by writing the stories behind the paintings and the lessons they teach me.

My art is sold locally and internationally through my Etsy shop and through Fine Art America as well as through local art shows.

My art is a part of my journey of self-discovery and it is how I find the deepest and purest parts of myself, I like to call this most sacred and intimate part of myself, the inner child. Two of my favorite quotes are by Pablo Picasso, 'It takes a very long time to become young.” and by George Bernard Shaw, "We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
