Absolutely darling pillow! Packaged with care and superbly crafted!
When you've got a lot of beads and fabric, well....
What a long and winding road it's been to get here. I was in broadcasting back when actual human beings did the talking. For years I worked Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays, all for no extra pay. I'm talking small to medium market radio. I was the only "girl", too. The token female voice on the air playing real LP's on real turntables. Country music, mostly. Then talk. Then Top 40. I ended up at a CNN affiliate at an age where I could set my own hours and with technology that allowed me out of the studio long enough to attend my kids' school events. Then radio changed and announcers like me were relics. I went to work for a major Spice & Wellness company as their lifestyle writer. When my husband's job took us out of state for a year I became a SAHM with time on my hands and no where for my creative juices to flow. So I became an interior redesigner. I'd always enjoyed cleaning, organizing, recycling and upcycling my own things and in the early 2000's other people were happy to pay for that service. The market for interior redesigners went a little bonkers around 2006-2008 - one of the casualties of the housing market. Right about then I inherited a box of beads. I started making jewelry. I sold a little at local craft fairs and made items for family. Then it seemed everyone was making jewelry. Sales slowed way down. Now I have all these beads and I'm not making jewelry. My mom, an excellent quilter with a basement full of fabric, said one day, "You could embellish my quilts and table-runners with some beads." Ah ha!
All my beaded items are meant for decorative purposes only as each bead is hand-sewn in place. They are not washable (but may be spot cleaned) nor are they child or pet-proof.
The Beaded Pillow is a smoke-free environment. Marno's sewing room is also smoke free.
