5 out of 5 starsThe quality of the print is great. Everything about this is as expected, and the reaction it received as a gift was more than I ever intended. Very nice work at a very nice price.

Welcome to The Big Harumph, linocut block prints and letterpress!
har•umph / har•rumph
1. to clear the throat in a self-important way.
2. to express oneself gruffly.
3. To offer usually brief critical comments:
4. An expression of disdain, disbelief, protest, or dismissal; a huff, grunt, or snort.
I opened my shop here on Etsy in the Spring of 2009. I have a huge variety of styles and stick primarily to linoleum block prints.
My prints are available at many kick-ass retail shops around the world, and I am fortunate to have had my hand-pulled prints featured on:

✪About our prints:
First I start with a piece of linoleum that is mounted on an woodblock, then I hand-carve a design into the surface using a knife-like gouge. After it's up to par, I apply ink to the surface using a roller (called a brayer), then the whole thing is gently pressed onto super nice cotton paper. It usually takes a few test-prints to get the lines I like. The entire process is done entirely by hand. We don't use a computer for any part of the process (until we list a print here on Etsy, that is). Using linoleum for block printing was first used as an art form in the early 1900s, but it didn't start getting popular until the 40s. It goes by a few names: linoleum block prints, linocuts, lino cut, etc.

All items ship to the address you fill out when you check out through Etsy. Please make sure your info is accurate.
✪ GIFTS:::
If you'd like your package gift-wrapped or if you'd like a note attached, please let us know in the "note to seller" during checkout.
✪ PACKAGING:::
•Each 8x10 print is placed against a piece of chipboard and is slid into a resealable plastic sleeve, then shipped flat in a bend-proof mailer with an additional sheet of corrugated cardboard for extra protection. If you ordered more than one print and need them to be packaged in individual plastic sleeves, just let us know during checkout.
•Larger prints are shipped in super-durable tubes. If an 8x10 is purchased with a larger print, it will be shipped in a tube as well.
✪ SHIPPING FOR ORDERS WITHIN THE U.S.A. :::
All orders ship via USPS first class from Wichita, Kansas. First class typically takes 2-5 business days to arrive.
✪ INTERNATIONAL ORDERS :::
We're sorry, but we don't offer international shipping at this time.
Additional policies and FAQs
The BIG Harumph accepts wholesale orders! Our prints are available through many U.S. and international shops. Please inquire!
✪ COTTON PAPER:::
Cotton Lettra paper is used for most 8x10 prints. It's pretty great. If you'd like a sample of the paper, just let me know and I'll send out a small piece for free.
✪ CUSTOM DESIGNS:::
We have received a lot of requests for custom prints lately. We unfortunately can't complete custom carvings. Check out this section of our shop for a few custom solutions:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/thebigharumph?section_id=7733510
✪ CUSTOM PENCILS:::
We are not set up at the moment for custom pencil engravings.
✪ FRAMES:::
All prints are sold un-framed. Due to the tricky nature of shipping glass, I do not offer framing services. Most of my prints are standard sizes and don't need matting. A custom cut mat will solve issues with prints that have a unique size.
✪ Oh... right... all items are shipped from a smoke-free, pet-free studio.
