About

Dolls and Foxes and Elephants, Oh My!!

I was first inspired to begin my sewing company when I went to school in Halifax Nova Scotia. I received my BFA from NSCAD University in 2008. I was overwhelmed by the craft culture in Halifax and decided to immerse myself in sewing upon my return to Ontario.

I've had a passion for sewing, since my first time using a sewing machine at age 13. After University, I started making softies with the intent to give them away as gifts. They were all so well received that I continued to make more, and the demand for softies quickly snowballed.

I am influenced by all critters and by unique individuals. I design all my own patters and make each of my softies one-of-a-kind so that none are exactly alike. Each softie starts as an idea and after some research, brainstorming and fabric shopping I get started with a pattern.

I hand pick my fabrics to match each animal or doll I create. After sewing and stuffing I add fine details to help bring their individual personalities to life. As a kid my most loved doll came with a name and a birthdate that I celebrated every year. I wanted to give my customers that kind of connection with their softies. Each one comes with a name and a cute or funny short story to jump start their character.
