Thank you! It is so much more amazing in person, AND it perfectly matches the vintage necklace and earrings I bought it to go with! I am giddy!

Thanks for stopping by The Brown Pigeon!

I try to keep the prices here low when I can because I want this to feel like an online thrift store. I am able to keep prices low because I get most of my clothes at amazing bargains! :)

Please keep reading for more information about how I like to do business!

Accepted payment methods

Currently only accepting PayPal.

If you see something you simply CANNOT live without but don't use PayPal, contact me and I will try to work something out with you.

If you cannot pay immediately, but would like the item to be held for you for a reasonable and agreed upon amount of time, I am more than willing to do that, please just convo me first.
Items will be shipped when payment is received. I usually ship same day or next day, but for weekend and holidays please allow 1-2 days.

In order to stay eco-friendly, orders may sometimes be wrapped in reused and/or recycled materials. (i.e. a gift box from another store, or tissue paper used to wrap a birthday present) I try to be earth-conscious and hope this does not bother anyone.

IMPORTANT: US shipping prices are for the lower 48 States of the US. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, you are included in 'Everywhere Else'. Sorry for any inconvenience, but if you are overcharged by a dollar or more I will refund you the difference via PayPal.

All shipping is estimated based on the farthest postal zone. If you are overcharged for shipping by a dollar or more you will be REFUNDED the difference via Paypal. If you are undercharged, lucky you!, unless it is so grossly undercharged that it poses a financial problem for me, and I will contact you (I only see this being a potential problem shipping overseas).
Refunds and Exchanges
I am willing to work out an exchange when there is significant disappointment with an order. For example, if you feel the item pictures or description misrepresented the item, you find a flaw with the item that I missed, or yes, if the item does not fit. There is nothing more disheartening then buying something online and it not working out for you and I understand this, so I would like to work through any problems with you.

The details of returns will be handled on a personal basis, and may vary according to the issue with the item.
Additional policies and FAQs

Measurements represent the dimensions of the garment only, they don't necessarily show what your measurements should be to fit in the garment. If a garment has no stretch and the bust measurement is exactly yours, it may be a tight fit, or not fit at all depending on how thick the fabric is, the construction method, etc. Different styles of clothing will all have different proportions but could all fit well on the same body.

-For garments with elastic waists, min and max measurements will be given based on the stretch of the garment.
-Garments made from stretch material will be noted.
-bust measurements are taken from armpit to armpit
-waist measurements means your natural waist (the one you bend at) not where you may wear your pants
-hip measurements means the measurement around the widest part of your bum! :)
-You should allow extra room for outerwear especially because remember, you will be wearing it over clothes (most likely!).
-Some dresses and coats will have larger-than-expected waist and hip measurements because they can be belted or worn loose.
-Different people's busts, waists, and hips all fall in different places (otherwise we'd all look alike!) so all measurements are taken according to where the construction of the garment has placed them. Usually the hardest one to judge is the hip, which is why I usually list it as "Approximate"
-I will try to tell you which seams I used to measure some of the places you may not know your measurements for (shoulder width, sleeve length). You can then take a garment you own, lay it flat and find out what fits you comfortably.

My home is smoke-free environments, but not pet free, so please keep this in mind when buying. HOWEVER, because these are vintage their former environment is unknown.

All items are hand washed by me, unless they require dry cleaning, which I do not do unless noted. I use hypoallergenic detergent. It is recommended you rewash all items after shipping (unless they are dry clean only!) by hand washing and hanging to dry.

A note about Vintage items sold here: A growing trend nowadays is to take vintage items, especially clothing, and deconstruct them, rework them into something completely different, use them in art, etc. While this often achieves some really creative and unique looks, something special has been lost. Every vintage item has a special place in history; often they are made using techniques or materials no longer available or in practice, making them important tell an important story. I ask that you please be kind to the vintage items you may purchase here. I have collected them because I wanted them to be saved and go to a loving home, which means they will be cared for and enjoyed they way they are (doesn't everyone want to be loved for who they are??). Minor alterations are of course one thing, but seriously altering something vintage can be quite a loss. Thanks for reading my humble babble :)
