I contacted Maxanne before a snowmobiling trip for these 5 knit beard hats. She got them out quickly, the price was right, the quality was great, and we had a good time with them. Now my kids are wearing them in the midwest winter weather, and their faces are really kept warm. I think the best feature of these is the "moustache" part of the beard, and the fact that your mouth can protrude through the moustache/beard gap. The beard hats are really funny!
A prodigal knitter, curiosity lured me back to this passion.
When people (the unknowing) think of knitting, they immediately think of their grandmother rocking in a chair and knitting the day away. The result would be a new set of booties for the newest arrival to the family or maybe a beautiful scarf to use in the upcoming winter months. Although all that is still available from us grandmothers knitting has come a long way from then.
The new yarns feature textures and fabrics our grandmothers never got the opportunity to try out. When you stroll through a small town craft show or visit the county fair, you will see amazing products and wares that you can't imagine were dreamed up and constructed using knitting needles.
I was curious to see if I still knew how to knit after taking about a 30 year break from the craft. When I was younger and having my children, I could crochet and knit but since I hadn't touched any needles for a few decades, I had my doubts. After digging around in the drawers of the garage, I found some knitting needles. I looked around the Internet and found a free pattern to make an adorable purse so I thought I would give it a try. It turned out great and it was so relaxing, I was hooked.
Before I knew it I had around 10 purses sitting around the house. My family was expecting that soon all the TP rolls would be covered in knitted covers or something so they started to suggest that I find a way to move the inventory out.
I decided to give about half of those away at Christmas time to friends and family but the purses just kept piling up around here. I tried my hand at a few accessories but always returned to the purses.
My husband decided that he really must enter some of the items in the county fair. I was a little fearful but he was confident and we ended up coming home with a few ribbons. Someone contacted me and asked if they could buy one of my bags so I have decided that I should just open a shop and sell them as I make them.

I'm a bit of a computer geek, a grandmother of one precious girl and if there is ever any time to completely devote to the task I love to quilt and knit.
I hand knit each of these heirloom quality purses. They are made with 100% wool yarn and high quality materials/accessories that may add a little pizzazz. I take great pride in the handmade techniques and quality of each purse, bag or tote. By way of a reminder, when the items are handmade, that means there will be slight imperfections that are part of the unique charm found in each purse.
