I initially started working with polymer clay after seeing a couple pairs of polymer clay earrings I liked on Poshmark. I thought "hmmm, I can make those myself" and instead of spending $30 to buy a few new pairs of earrings, I spent $300+ on clay, cutters, findings etc. I got good feedback on my designs from friends and family. Cashiers in stores would comment on my earrings. I thought I would try my hand at selling. The cloud society was born.

Golden Girls fans will recognize my shop name from the show. Sophia and her friends drink sherry in the park and discuss what they think the clouds look like. They call themselves The Cloud Society. The Golden Girls is my safe space, my security blanket and makes up at least 30% of my home's décor, so I had to incorporate them into my business somehow.

Now of course I've upped my game since I started making earrings for myself. I don't use cheap off brand clay, I use the good stuff, and I replaced my cheap metal generic craft store cookie cutters with high quality plastic cutters from Etsy sellers. I use solid brass charms, gold filled or sterling findings. I've incorporated glass beads and gold foil into my designs. I'm still having as much fun now as when I started, which is saying something since I usually get bored of things real quick. It's wonderful to have a creative outlet, something to focus on besides my phone and the shitshow happening outside.
