Best liners I've tried. Like wearing nothing. Nice & small. Simple design. The winged ones were way too much "stuff" for everyday use. They did slip on me, though. So I take a long piece of masking tape, join the ends with the sticky side out, & tape them into place. Works great.

About

An Elephant is Born

**We are currently in the process of becoming missionaries in Montreal, Canada! It is a busy and exciting time in our lives. Our shop will be in vacation mode from August 1st till sometime after we return from our 15 month trip. We are looking at leaving in 2014. Feel free to follow our journey on our blog!**

Adam and I went to school for media arts and animation. After we got married we started Morgan Media our small animation company online. We have done advertisements for .tv and Acer laptops. When we had our son, Jayne, our animation time went down to 0 and we started creating things just for him. It started with the burpcloths for me. I designed them based on one I got a a gift, but adjusted it to work better for me. Many people asked where I got them and I told them that I made them. Then I started to get orders from people for them. Adam started by making Jayne the cutest little knit bear hat. That was just as popular.

Then, in August 2009, a friend of ours recomended that we sell our artwork on etsy. I thought of the success I had with the burp cloths when Jayne was a baby and decided to give it a shot. We opened The Crazy Elephant shortly after, at the end of August 2009. The shop is named after Jayne, who loved elephants and spent many hours stomping around the house (he was 2 when we started). The things that we made for him we made for the shop. We wanted to use up the larger scraps from our other projects and our pad lines were born! Now we are exclusively pads.

We love being able to team up to create and the fact that our products help others make it that much better! We have had the opportunity to help with our shop as well since our opening by donating to cancer patients, diabetes research, and cloth pads for women in Uganda.

We are currently preparing to go on mission in Montreal as long term missionaries.

I love sewing and creating for The Crazy Elephant! It is so much fun to ship to new states and countries. Because of The Crazy Elephant I am able to stay home with my little guy and homeschool him as well.

Additional policies and FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:

Do your pads leak?
They do not have a waterproof barrier. They are made with water resistant backing. The only time I have heard of anyone having a leakage issue was with extremely heavy flow on a medium absorbency pad. If you select the right absorbency for your flow, there should not be a problem.

How do I wash them?
I wash mine in cold (as with all my laundry) and dry on medium heat. Do not use fabric softener as it can cause your pads to be less absorbent.

Your pads don't have wings, do they stay put?
Yes! The fleece grips to your panties. This is the thing that women comment on the most, that they just couldn't believe how well they stayed in place until they tried it.

How many do I need?
That depends on how many you typically use and how often you want to wash them. It is always a good idea to try 1 or 2 pads to see if you like them before purchasing a large stash.

What type should I buy?
The liners are very light weight for spotting and discharge. The medium pads are great for normal flow days. Heavy pads are perfect for heavy days and over nights. The short pads are great for everyday wear and the longs are wonderful for overnight and times when you want to feel fully covered.

Do you have any with wings?
No, and I don't plan on making any. I do not like the added bulk of wings and snaps and have ultimately designed them the way I want a pad to feel. There are many wonderful pad makers on etsy that do a great job with wings and I encourage you to take a look at them if you truly want wings.

Can I get a free pad sample?
We do not send out free "samples" because they are not disposable like a free sample of a kotex pad that would require a person to go buy more to get more. A person could potentially get a free sample from each etsy pad shop, thus creating their whole stash for free and never having to make an actual purchase. Because there are so many fraud issues on Etsy, it is simply against our policy.
