Announcement   Welcome to the fanciful world of handmade up-cycled wool dolls and puppets! I started making wool dolls, which I call Jabberwoolies, several years ago. Each one is uniquely created and styled by me, and no two dolls are alike. Quite recently, I have started creating what I call "Jabberwooly Critters"--birds, dogs, and cats which are similarly styled and dressed. Each Jabberwooly is given a unique garden-themed name as a tribute to my love of all things that grow from the ground.

I then started making hand puppets as a way to use up the scraps from the Jabberwoolies, in an effort to reduce the waste created by my endeavors as much as possible.

I use 100% recycled wool for my creations. This wool comes primarily from sweaters which have been washed, fluffed, and felted prior to use.

I hope you enjoy my shop, and if you have any questions regarding any of my products, please do not hesitate to contact me!

This is my second purchase at this shop. The puppets are as cute as pictured, but you can't feel and see the quality of materials and craftmanship until you have it in your hands. Over the years, with the explosion of the arts and crafts movement, I have been disenchanted by "handmade" products. Many have capitalized on the movement, but don't reflect what the movement is really is about in their work. The Creative Frog exemplifies the pride of this movement— hand making something to create a high quality product, seeking and combining unique materials to create a rare find that mass production can't replicate.

This item arrived in a very resonable amount of time, and my daughter LOVES him!! As soon as she saw him she smiled at him, and quickly leaned in for a kiss. The item feels well-made, and I am confident that we will have many hours of awesome play with Walden.

About

Powerful Women

The strong women in my family were talented, resourceful, unique, apron-wearing seamstresses, tailors, furriers, cooks and garden-lovers who descended from a long tradition of people obsessed with creating.

The creative process can be a curse! Sometimes it just takes some stepping away from my tools and tables to the local library, museum, thrift shop, photo album--or just into my garden--for inspiration.

I prefer three dimensional work in fibers, textiles or paper. Wool is my latest obsession. It is such a forgiving fiber. I also try to use recycled materials as much as I can.
