Note from shop owner Hello and welcome to the Creative Soul. BIG NEWS: the Creative Soul is going to be going through some changes and growth. This doesn't mean that the shop is getting bigger, just that my creative soul has been listening to whispers of change that have grown into a full, clear voice. I am very excited for all the things upcoming.
My family and I are in the midst of moving back to our beloved Washington State after 13 years in Missouri, being near and helping to care for my parents in their last years. Our daughter and her husband live in WA and about to have our first grandbaby! The inspiration of the beautiful state has me dreaming about a new kind of jewelry and art....natural, rustic, Pacific NW tribal and a bit bohemian. It's so exciting to me!
However, we are staying with family temporarily and looking for our new home in August, hoping to move in the first part of September. This means it will still be a little while before I'm able to unpack all my supplies and get started creating again...it's hard to wait since I haven't had time to do anything for months due to preparing to move. I hope you will enjoy my new offerings when they arrive.
Peace, love and blessings to all...Sara

Ornament received was beautiful. There was an error with the spelling of the last name on the charm. The issue was quickly and easily resolved.

Hand made with care and beauty. My girlfriend loved it! Very romantic. She went the extra mile to present this gift in a very special and unique packaging. The gift itself is special, unique and inspiring.

About

The Creative Soul is Heading in a New Direction!

I've been creative all my life...from scribbling with crayons to drawing intricate ink pictures featuring tiny ants at a huge picnic when I was a pre-teen to art classes and sign making in high school....well, you get the picture. I took a few art classes in college while I studied psychology, then got a master's degree in Counseling Psychology. As a children and family therapist I found play and art therapy to be an integral part of my work. The meaning behind what those children drew revealed themselves to me and helped me to help them grow and make changes.

Then health problems I'd been dealing with for years got worse and chronic pain stopped me from working. It was so nice to be home for my children, but I felt a little lost as someone not really contributing anything to the community. I had kept art journals for many years, and in looking at examples of these online I stumbled upon ATC/ACEOs...little works of art about as big as a playing card. My interest was piqued. This led me through a variety of mixed media art creations and eventually creating one of a kind pieces of jewelry using a combination of antique, vintage and modern supplies. I've had such a grand time over the last eight or nine years! I've even ventured a bit back into newer mixed media adventures. I've grown quite a bit over the years as an artist...my creative journey has been wonderful!

And now it's time to journey in a new direction, to take a new path. We are moving from Missouri back to our beloved Washington State, for a number of really good reasons, including that our daughter and her husband live there and are expecting our first grandchild, a little girl! We've been planning this move for at least a couple of years now, and as time has gone on and I think more about the beautiful nature of Washington, the people there, etc I have felt my creative soul taking me in a new direction. I'm led to create jewelry and art with themes of nature, Pacific NW Indian arts, rustic and even bohemian flair. I am so very excited to head in this direction!! So, after we get settled in our own place in WA I will be unpacking my studio supplies, finding a place for everything and beginning to create again!

The shop name will remain the same, for creativity is a gift God has given to my soul and I feel ever so close to Him when I create. I will continue to offer the pieces of antique/vintage/modern that haven't yet sold, at a greatly reduced price when I reopen the shop. I hope this will be September, but who knows what each day will bring.

Thank you to those of you who have purchased and enjoyed my offerings and those who have followed me. I greatly appreciate your interest in my creative journey.
You may go to my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/artsychicksw/ for a few updates prior to the shop reopening. There is more information there about our move, too, if you scroll down a few posts.
Love, Peace and Blessings, Sara

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I so enjoy creating custom orders for my customers! In addition to creating something of your choice, I can also use bits and pieces of your own to incude in jewelry or art. Sometimes folks like to include pieces of family jewelry (even if broken) or family photos or handwriting, keys, etc. Just contact me and we can begin creating a special piece within your budget.

Care instructions

My items are all made by hand and often include vintage or antique items in their creation. They are best kept in a closed container to prevent dust collection etc, but if you like to keep them displayed you can lightly dust them with something soft if needed. Please avoid getting any of my pieces wet. While they may withstand some raindrops, please don't wear by bathing or swimming. If you ever have a problem with a part being loose or falling off please contact me via Etsy and we will work out a solution.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All of my orders come packaged creatively, usually in a printed kraft bag with embellishments, etc. If you would prefer a special gift wrap we can discuss what you would like and I will add a gift wrapping fee of $2. I have many wrapping items to choose from including boxes, fabrics, vintage papers, recycled sari silks, fibers, laces and more!
I do recycle packing materials, both for the good of our Earth and to save on costs. I decorate each package, usually with a collage or mixed media approach. Each one is different and I hope my customers enjoy receiving their artful packages. If you prefer a new envelope/box unadorned please make special note of it in messages to seller. Thanks!
