Yes! You would have received an email from Etsy to say your order has been dispatched. All orders have been dispatched and they are on their way.

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY ORDER AND IT IS PASS THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE

The postal services at this time of year get very busy and this has been made worse this year by Covid-19 and many of the postal staff being off sick. They are working hard to process the orders as quickly as possible but your parcel may be delayed. Please in the meantime check with your neighbours and for a slip. Thank you for your patience.

I DIDN’T RECEIVE MY ORDER IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee Christmas delivery on any orders as we are reliant on a third party (the postal services) and they are experiencing delays. It will be with you very soon.

GIFT CARD

If you have a valid gift card for the shop, your gift card will be valid when we are open again and we will extend the timing on it for you. If it has expired when you go to use it, please get in touch and we will sort this for you.

RETURNS

If you wish to return your order.

Please package up your order with a note in with your name and order number and return to:

Orders must be in their original condition and returned to us within 30 days of delivery. We recommend you get a proof of postage from the Post Office (free in the UK)

We will then process your refund or exchange during our next ‘online day’.

TRACKING INFORMATION

If you paid for the tracked shipping option, you will be able to find tracking information on your order. If you did not, you will instead have a dispatch number which confirms your order has been dispatched. All orders are sent using the Royal Mail. You can find shipping updates on their website.

We are Rachel and Jamie and together we run The Dorothy Days.

We believe in beautiful, practical and long lasting items which are unique, a joy to own and will be treasured for many years to come. This is central to everything we do and bring you in the shop whether it is the hat which becomes a favourite wardrobe staple or the craft supply that you will turn into something beautiful and unique item to treasure.

In a world of excess and waste, we strongly believe in buying better and buying less. We live by this philosophy ourselves and with what we bring you in our shop.

We love what we do and are very much lead by our creativity and what sparks our interests and brings us joy to make.

We split our time between the Dorset countryside and Sussex coastline in the UK, both of which equally feel like home and inspire us. We have a very active toddler, Iris, so juggle running the shop with parenthood and love that running our creative business allows us the freedom to be together as a family.

Wholesale availability

We offer wholesale for our products. Please contact us via Etsy convo for wholesale enquiries.

When contacting, it helps if you let us know where you are located, if there is a deadline and roughly how many units you would be interested in.

This means we can give you a more detailed reply with turnaround time, shipping information etc

Photographs

I photograph all my items in high resolution so you can see in detail the item. Please click on the photographs to view the items in high resolution. Please be aware that due to different lighting and different computer monitor settings the colour of the item may vary slightly from the photograph.

Canada

Canada Post are currently experiencing delays to delivery services due to high volumes of incoming mail. The latest update is post is taking 2-3 weeks longer to arrive than the usual 5-7 working days. My free delivery option is the standard post. I would recommend that customers upgrade to the tracked service for a small extra fee as the post using this service is getting processed much faster than the standard option. This option is available at the checkout.

WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

1 working day is my standard turnaround time for orders. If I can, I will try and get your order out the same working day.

During busier times or times which I am away, I will extend my shipping times so you will be able to see this on individual listings if this is extended. I also put a notification up on my shop. Please see individual listings for most up to date turnaround times or contact me if you need more information.

Returns

If you need to return an item, please contact me before doing so I can let you know how to return your item to me. Thanks!

Q1: I have sensitive skin, which wool would you recommend? Q2: Are your hats good for babies and children?

A1: We use Shetland and Merino wools, both of which are super soft so are great for more sensitive skin. Our Merino is the softest of the two so we would recommend this in particular for those who have sensitive skin, worry about itching or for babies and children but both are lovely and soft!

A2: Yes! We are new parents and our daughter loves wearing our hats, in fact they are designed with her in mind. As parents it is important that they are made from a natural material, are long lasting, soft against her skin and warm.

I have a large/small head, will your hats fit?

The great thing about wool is that it will adjust and adapt to your head size and shape making it the perfect size for you. The hat will come to you straight off my needles so will be the smallest size possible at first. Place the hat on your head and after a wear or two the hat will gently adapt to your head size and shape making it the perfect fit.

If you have very particular sizing requirements, please get in touch as we also offer custom orders.

For example we recently made a custom XL hat for a customer with very very thick dreadlocks who stuggles to find hats that can accommodate his hair.

Christmas Post

We are shipping daily, apart from Sunday to get your orders to you as quickly as possible.

UK delivery is 1st class as standard. International is sent priority mail.

Most orders ship the next day (or same day if we possibly can for you)

If you order at least 1 day before the last shipping date for your country we will get your order in the post to you before that closes.

We recommend ordering as early as possible and, for international customers, we recommend upgrading to tracked delivery.

Most post is getting through fast and will be delivered by Christmas if sent before the last recommended postal dates. We cannot however guarantee Christmas delivery especially as there are delays in the postal systems worldwid

Christmas Order Dates

Last Christmas order dates have now passed for all countries apart from the UK.

Please see the graphic on our shop for more information on our last order and shipping dates.

We will still ship your order and there is a chance it might make it to you for Christmas but is beyond Royal Mail's last shipping date
