About

We Were Ugly, So We Made Beautiful Things

My philosophy in creation is that there is so much ugliness in the world - so much that can bring us down, make us fail to see the delight in the simple things - that to create something beautiful to remind us of the positivity and pure marvelousness of existence is a tremendously necessary act. Having long been interested in the meaning and power behind stones, I try to incorporate various precious and semi-precious materials to capture high vibrations, positive energy, health, and harmony into each piece - from delicate, portable dream catcher earrings, to large, full beautiful wall hangings, and carefully stitched hand embroidery, I put love and kindness into my creativity, in the belief that this positive energy will absolutely drench whatever I’m working on with good vibrations. The ultimate goal being to create a sense of harmony, joy, and longevity for the wearer or keeper. By combating the nature of cruelty and disorder with calm beauty, I believe we can create a more harmonious self, and by extension, a more peaceful community Earth.

My dream catchers are intended to pay homage to my Grandfather, with whom I shared a love of all things American Indian; as well as the Ojibwe, or Chippewa, people, with whom the dream catcher originates.

"How do you measure your dreamcatchers?"

Dreamcatcher hoops are measured in inches by diameter (straight from top to bottom). A single piece is measured from the top of the leather loop, to the tip of the longest feather.

Dreamcatcher earrings are measured from the bale of the fish hook to the tip of the longest feather.

If you would like a better idea of how large a piece is, I am always happy to rephotograph an item for you! Please send me a private message :)
