About

What I love about Etsy.

Way back in 2009 I heard about Etsy. This coincided with the delivery of my beloved etching press. Etsy enables me to see all my pieces at a glance and notice patterns and shifts in the way I work. I've also discovered many kindred spirits here; people from all over the world (and just down the road) making prints and other remarkable things. For me creating is all about simplicity, personal truth, and discipline.

As well as making prints I am a classical piano student and teacher. I find the cross-over between the arts endlessly fascinating, so too are the chasms that divide them. Elissa Milne (Australian composer) hypothesises that "maybe (music's) not at the top of the food chain – it’s at the bottom: it feeds absolutely every other art form, and without it they cannot flourish".

Born in the windy coastal town of Perth, Western Australia in 1970. I grew up surrounded by the prints that my mother collected in the 70's and 80's. Discovering the school etching press was a memorable experience deliciously relived.
