The Tale of the Fairy Atelier
Once upon a time, I was visited in my studio by a slightly bedraggled little Fairy named Marigold, who blew in on a particularly windy and rainy autumn morning. Marigold is a Leaf and Flower Painter who was assigned to my garden at the time, and asked me to design a dress for her to wear to the Autumn Fairy Festival. (When asked to do something by a Fairy, you somehow find yourself agreeing to anything!)
Anyway, to make a long story short, I made the dress and she loved it. Then word got around the Fairy Kingdom, and the rest - as they say - is history…Before I knew it, I was not only designing gowns, but shoes, furniture and homes, as well!
And that's how the Fairy Atelier came to be.
Fairy dresses and shoes are one of a kind creations, made by hand from natural materials collected in the wilds of Portland, Oregon.
Owner, Creator, Designer
Jane's an artist, designer, voracious reader, wannabe writer, inveterate maker of things, lover of animals, nature, people and peace, and an unapologetic believer in the notion that good always triumphs over evil. And she's our founder.
Marigold Leafpainter is a fifth generation foliage colorist, born with the gift of gab. She is instrumental in getting the word out to the Fairy Kingdom about the Fairy Atelier.
Abbie and Cooper (aka the Knuckleheads) personally inspect every garment before it is shipped and spend countless hours guarding the studio against marauding squirrels and bad pixies.
