Announcement   I opened my shop in 2008 but had to let it go for a few years.
It wasn't until I reopened it in 2015 that I realized how much I missed it.

Formally thefamilyjewels3,
I reopened as HKP Designs and I'm so happy to be back.

I have been an artist and designer all my life.
My art training began at The Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. where I studied photography and illustration. From there it was on to Parsons School of Design in New York City where my graphic design skills were cultivated.

I have been a graphic designer since the mid seventies.
I started playing with beads around 2007 and haven't stopped since.
I love to figure out how to combine the colors, shapes, textures and light
to create a beautiful work of art.

Of all the materials I’ve worked with, the semi-precious stones, African beads and fine silver that create beautiful jewelry most excite my imagination. Jewelry is not only beautiful, it is intimate. It is worn as adornment and therefore it is personal in a way other objects of art cannot be.

Jewelry is often given with love and over the years holds our best memories. That is why I strive to achieve something unique and expressive in every piece. I hope you enjoy your jewelry and that you find it as special as I try to make it.
