About TheFamilyJewelsCLP
Because family is everything.
When I was in college, I needed to find a way to make some extra cash to help pay for books/supplies/etc. I always loved to craft, especially jewelry making, and wanted a creative outlet to take my mind off of schoolwork as well. While I earned my BFA in Fine Arts, 3D Concentration in Ceramics, at the University of Cincinnati, I started my business. At the time, I conducted my shop as "Poor Girl at School". Several years later, I said yes to my incredible husband and changed my business name to "Poor Bride at School".
After we married in 2010, I decided it was time for a more permanent name change and thought long and hard about why I owned a business and what my drive was; that's when it clicked. Everything I do is for the ones I love, most importantly my family. We knew after our wedding we wanted a big family and I began stewing on business names. It wasn't long until I knew "The Family Jewels" was it. I consider myself somewhat funny so in typical "me" fashion, it was catchy, fun, and exactly what I was looking for.
In April 2012, we welcomed our first child, a daughter whom we named Zoey. She is the absolute light of my life and I could not imagine my life without her.
So, when she sleeps, I beadazzle away to share my love for creating jewelry in hopes that someone out there falls in love with a piece.
My goal as a full-time working mom, along with this business, is to always keep my family first and to be able to provide the best that I can for them.
Welcome to my shop.
