Welcome to THE FORTUNATE HOME!
I opened my first Etsy shop late in 2009 and over the years have stocked it with a variety of different items. They've always been the kinds of things that I have been making for my own home, or given as gifts, for years and it's been fun to create similar items for others.
Entertaining has always been a big part of my life and having people in my home truly makes me happy. To me, life is best when it is shared with friends and family. Creating a pretty tablescape is like setting the stage for your party. It creates an instant impression on your guests. In The Fortunate Home's early years I concentrated on creating hand stamped placemats and napkins as well as pretty napkin rings to set that beautiful table. I stocked menu cards and place cards made from original pictures taken all over the world by my brother in law. We made a good team! After awhile I focused mostly on hand stamped paper napkins with all sorts of fun designs. It's always nice to know you played a small part in someone's party and I love when customer's send me pictures of their tablescapes! While I may add the paper napkins back to my shop in the future, my current focus is on cork trivets that have been hand stamped with all sorts of colorful designs! Tables need those too!
I've created trivets for almost all the holidays and some just for a fun addition to your house. I've given them as house warming presents and hostess gifts, used them as teacher gifts and even stocking stuffers. See why I think they are great? Who doesn't love something multi-purpose?
So there you have it, the evolution of The Fortunate Home. Many thanks to all the customers who have helped me keep this table top journey going.
