Good Day and Welcome to The Fox and Filly! My shop is a curated collection of distinctive, unique and hard to find pieces at a very reasonable price. My shop offerings include my own handcrafted jewelry to vintage jewelry and vintage items I have collected over the years. I am in love with jewelry and personal adornment because it offers a person a fantastic way to express their own particular style and aesthetic.

For me it all started with the Barbie Doll "Craze", I was 5 and totally obsessed with fashion, constantly changing their outfits creating new ones by swapping pieces to create a different "Look". And, as a result, I discovered the best way to bring pieces those pieces together in a harmonious way was with accessories of adornment. It was THEN I started making jewelry, first for my Barbie's wardrobe, then for my Mom, then for my friends and before I knew it I had a little business going at a very young age.

To this date I get excited discovering new materials to mix with old or vintage elements to create something unique and lovely. The techniques I have learned in the decades of being an artist include wire work, bead work, macrame, glassblowing, lampworking, ceramics, metalwork, soldering, sewing, crocheting, leather work, clay work, chainmaille, etc. Once I had so many beads & supplies that I opened a bead shop in the '90s when I lived in Southern California, offering a gorgeous array of jewelry supplies, serving as my studio and also a platform for instructing others in the various techniques of jewelry making.

Now I'm back to my Midwestern roots to be near my precious family. My Dad (RIP) was a hardworking entrepreneur, I looked up to him and his clever ways and I decided to follow in his footsteps but not in the industrial world as he was, I had to follow the beat of my own drum, literally. Since I was 2 years old I had started collecting records, learning instruments and honing my voice, throughout my life my love of music and art became the way I made my most passionate living. After having my jewelry studios since the early 90s I had branched out into apparel and it blossomed into many incarnations of various fashion Boutiques, from Romantic to Southwest styles. I have been a shopkeeper since then and just recently I closed my last brick & mortar at the end of 2017 to start a new chapter in my life and where this new road will lead is an adventure in itself.
