About

Sacred Altars and Mysteries of Mary Tarot Deck

I follow an ancient sacred tradition which used to belong to the devotees of the Great Mother and which was incorporated into religion by nuns and convents.
Sacred Art and Altars are all sacred items inspired by my pilgrimages to sacred sites of Mother Mary on Earth. These wearable shrines and altars led to the creating of the Mysteries of Mary Tarot Deck and book set. Each tarot card is a three dimensional holy shrine in the tradition of the old prayer cards.
The wearable shrines and altars are hand made shadowboxes to be worn as an altar. Each piece is unique and individual and an original. Every wearable altar, shrine and pendant carries the signature of the artisan (me) engraved on a sterling silver leaf, or on the back of a sterling silver hand cast icon, or on a brass dangle, hanging on the necklace.
These items carry great spiritual and healing power and many healings and even miracles have been attributed to them. Each one of my pendants, shrines, paintings and other sacred art are first infused with holy waters from Lourdes, Glastonbury, Ngome and others, (which I brought back), and then infused with pure essential oils. A mixture of one hundred oils are used, including frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, agarwood and rose.
It is also immersed in blessed pink dead sea salts, infused with rose petals steeped in holy oil of a third relic of St Therese of Lisieux and it is packaged with blessed salts, frankincense and sprinkled with holy water collected form many sacred places in the world.
So it becomes a holy object to be handled with reverence and care. These works are Sacred Altars. I am the founder and Visionkeeper of The Temple of Mary and my lifestyle includes regular pilgrimages to sacred places. I share keepsakes from these sacred sites and turn them into altars and shrines. I also collect dolls and tell their stories in miniature shadow boxes. My dedication is to women and to the feminine qualities of compassion, relating and beauty.
My vision is that ordinary people are living extraordinary lives no different from the saints and other holy ones. I see that our inner lives are sacred and are reflected in these great ideals. By expressing these ideas and manifesting them into Sacred Art, I believe it is making this vision visible for myself and others who witness the art and themselves in these stories.
These ideals inspire me to find meaning in my own life and that is what Sacred Art is all about : about giving meaning to life.
