Once Upon a Time......
The Funky Shack was born out of LOVE for crafting, entertaining and gift giving!
I grew up surrounded by creative people. Builders, painters, seamstress's, etc. I got the fever when I moved into my first apartment after I bought an old sewing machine at a yard sale. Since then I've been sewing, sculpting, sanding, painting, nailing, and so on!
I began giving handmade candle holders as gifts. I love making people happy with beautiful things! I was encouraged by family and friends to sell my designs and the rest is history!
I started as Wire Works Art selling at craft fairs and then changed to The Funky Shack and opened my Etsy store. I worked by myself for about the first 4 years. I was working around the clock and decided to bring my sister on to help with sales and shipping. Now that I had help it was time to expand! Our dad had retired so we were happy to have him making barn wood chalkboards, frames and mirrors as well as cake stands and crates.
I took a leave of absence to grow my floral and event design business so I left The Funky Shack Etsy store in the hands of my very talented parents.
Now I'm back! I am so passionate about my new line of jewelry, I hope you love it!
