Whimsical gear for one-of-a-kind greyhounds!

Being a huge fan of the fantasy genre, I'd always wanted a pet dragon.

One summer day, I decided to crochet a costume for my greyhound Cricket. A few weeks of trial and error later, I had a flying dragon greyhound! She was so adorable, I couldn't look at her without smiling and laughing. I decided that I couldn't keep this joy to myself, and I opened my shop soon after. I hope that these costumes help create fun memories, and show the world the many different personalities that greyhounds have.

Thank you for stopping by The Gallant Greyhound!

  • Chace

My name's Chace and I'm the owner of The Gallant Greyhound. I run the shop with my rescue greyhounds Cricket and Roach, who leave everything (but the modeling) to me!

  • Cricket

    Senior Model

Born in 2009, Cricket became part of the family November 2013. She's a sensitive girl, but has come out of her shell to reveal a silly, loyal personality. Her mature-for-her-years face matches her quiet, quick intelligence. Loves veggies and naps.

  • Roach

    Junior Model

Born in 2014, Roach came to live with us October 2016. He's a puppy in a huge dog's body. He loves chasing toys, meeting new people, and then nibbling on them. Only models for meaty treats, but is learning to love veggies (thanks to Cricket)!

Frequently asked questions

Will this snood fit my [breed of dog]?

These snoods are tubes that are one size throughout, so they fit best on greyhounds, whippets, and other dogs who have a head smaller than or the same size as the top of the neck.

Can I change this snood's color?

Yes! Please message me with any custom color change ideas. I have many colors of yarn that aren't listed.

Could you make me a [snood idea]?

I love making new snoods! Please message me with any ideas you may have, and I'll be happy to work through the details with you.

How do I measure my dog?

Measure around your dog's head right behind the eyes. These snoods have plenty of stretch (as yarn tends to relax over time), but don't fit well when loose. If you have doubts about your measurement, round down half an inch to be safe.
