Welcome to The Geeky Knot!
Greetings and welcome to my weird and happy little corner of the internet!
I'm Tess, the owner and fiber magician here at the geeky knot. I am a queer, work-at-home single mom of two kids, and one ill-mannered rescue dog.
Working in the arts has been a life-long dream of mine; to do what I love and get paid for it. I learned to crochet more than a decade ago, and later picked up sewing and embroidery. Fiber arts are my fidget toy, they soothe me when nothing else can.
I started out making as a hobby, and mostly giving away what I made. One summer, an opportunity arose to sell my goods through a local bookstore, and that slowly grew into what is now The Geeky Knot.
This business is one of the hardest, most rewarding things I have done. I've built a business from the ground up, and made it into something I can use to support my children and I.
I am excited to continue my personal and professional journey, and I'm grateful to have you along for the ride! Thanks for being here!

New stickers fit in well with my bottle cozies!
Made with skill, careful attention to every detail and most importantly, love.
I chose my shop name to be a little bit me, a little what I do.
I'm a big geek, I love comic books and board games. My art is largely made up of a series of knots, whether it is crochet, sewing or embroidery, it is all knots!
I love what I do, and I hope you do, too.
My journey to this point all began 14 years ago when mother-in-law offered to teach me to crochet. I had an instantaneous infatuation!
A few years went by as I practiced and perfected my skills, picking up every new technique I could find.
I began selling my crochet when a local bookstore owner came across it asked to carry my work.
Soon after arriving, my items were flying off their shelves! That was when I decided to try my hand at etsy.
I have learned all I could on my way, picking up sewing and embroidery as I went. My meticulous attention to every facet of my work and discerning eye for materials has served me well in making the best possible product for my customers.
My crafting quest has been incredible and I'm excited to have an opportunity to continue it through online sales that ship all around the world.
