About

Paradise is Messy. Really Messy.

We met seven years ago and fell in love. How? Still trying to figure that one out, since David is an ER nurse who loves his Hummer and his rap music, and Carolyn is a madcap wanna-be writer who loves her Prius and her literature.

We combined our families and then bought a beautiful historic home with soaring ceilings and lots of windows and trim.

Carolyn always loved vintage and antiques and would rather be in a thrift store than a mall any day. But she couldn't get David to join her. . .

Until last summer, when he said he'd go along with her for an estate sale, and on the way home, she mentioned that she'd loved to start an Etsy shop. He said, "Why don't you?" And there began Paradise, their trio of Etsy stores.

Now, when David is not at work (overnights) at the hospital and Carolyn is not driving children to school functions or karate or soccer practice or stealing some time to work on one of her many files of unfinished fiction, they venture out to estate sales and flea markets in search of unique items, bring them home, and then step around them until they are repaired, cleaned, photographed, listed, and stored. Whew!

In our travels, we've begun a vintage lamp collection; everything else we find is with one of the shops in mind.

Each of our three Etsy stores has its own personality, and we hope you'll explore all three, which, together, we call Paradise Vintage:

Shipping
Most items leave our home 3-5 business days (M-F) from the date of purchase--this is the published processing time. After that, they can be tracked with the USPS number sent to your email.

We cannot guarantee delivery by a certain date, only try to honor our processing times. Size and weight affect delivery times as explained below.

We do our very best to package products for safe shipping, and I reuse clean packing materials to keep costs down for seller and buyer--and to minimize environmental impact.

Shipping within the U.S. is based on the most recent USPS published rates. First Class Mail can be used for items weighing less than 13 oz. Books are shipped via media mail, unless otherwise indicated or requested.

Items weighing over 13 oz. ship USPS Priority Mail (2-day delivery) or USPS Parcel Select (2-9 day delivery), depending upon size and weight. Generally, larger/heavier items ship Parcel Select due to drastically reduced shipping costs.

(You can consult the postage-price calculator on USPS.com, using the dimensions and weight provided in our item description, to determine approximate shipping to your zip from ours--35601.) Shipping overages greater than $3 will be refunded upon creation of mailing labels.

We're happy to ship internationally; however rates drastically increased--to our dismay--at the beginning of 2013. Please convo before purchase and include your zip code for an exact international shipping quote.

International buyers are responsible for duties, customs, and taxes.
Refunds and Exchanges
We value our customers and want you to be happy with your item.

Please, if you are unhappy for any reason, contact me through Etsy Convo before you leave feedback, and I will make every effort to resolve your concern to your satisfaction.

Generally, exchanges are only considered if the item is damaged by the postal service or if the item is believed to be significantly different from its representation in the original item description.

Everything we sell is at least 20 years old and most items are much older, so signs of wear are not unusual. However, we do attempt to describe and photograph any noticeable signs of damage or wear.

Please convo me before ordering to obtain additional measurements or a clearer idea of condition if you still have questions or need something in "perfect" condition.
