These legging are so nice! Very stretchy and comfortable. I love the colours and wash of both pairs that I received! I will definitely be ordering more in the future! 😊 Thank you!

These leggings are exactly what I hoped for! They were dyed perfectly, and they were even long enough for my gangly legs! Will definitely purchase other items.

About

Hello + Welcome,

The Gray Hive started as a blogging adventure to document our many DIY projects as we began work carving out a tiny corner of the world to call our own- Our Hive, so to speak. It quickly turned into an outlet of sorts, filled with rants and ramblings as we eagerly anticipated the arrival of our first child and navigated through life as newlyweds.

When we welcomed our son Earthside, we named him Archer. The name really didn't have much meaning to us at the time, but over the months we have realized just how significant it is. Archer, our sweet son, born to propel us into a different direction, much like an arrow would.

At The Gray Hive Co, we use many different methods of shibori techniques to bring you trendy and beautiful pieces for yourself, your home, and your littles. Shibori is a Japanese term for the method of dyeing textiles by stitching, binding, folding, twisting and compressing.

Anything blue you see in our shop is dyed with natural indigo. The indigofera tinctoria plant is the only source of blue in nature and has the ability to produce a wide range of shades from blue as light as the sky to a dark, deep navy. We make, soak, dye, oxidize, rinse and then open each piece by hand and with love. This art is a mix of magic and mystery as each masterpiece is truly one of a kind.

We strive to use natural, locally sourced and environmentally conscious materials whenever possible.

Our goal is to create pieces that you keep in your home for years to come;

⇢ Clothing that encourages your little ones to explore, dance, jump and play
⇢ Blankets and lovies to snuggle
⇢ Swaddles to hold your new baby close
and much, much more.

We hope that you enjoy our little shop. Thank you for being here,

Stuart, Katie and Archer Gray

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Each item in our shop is completely unique, but others can be made with the same techniques in mind and similar results may occur. Please contact our shop if you have inquiries for anything custom whether it be sizing, design or colour.

Care instructions

All items can be laundered at home on your washing machine's gentle cycle with like colours. Use cold water, a mild detergent and dry items on low heat to avoid shrinkage, fading and pilling. Do not wash The Softest Swaddle or The Linus Blanket with anything that has velcro due to the nature of the bamboo muslin. Please check all items for loose threads before giving them to your child.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Gift wrapping and packaging is available for an additional fee, just ask!
