great patter small repeat instructions but still clear enough to understand. child loved it. I was able to to make out of cotton so pattern is adaptable. 💜

I really hate to leave a low rating for this pattern because it looked so cute, but it just isn't a professional pattern. The cape you have to draft yourself, which is ok for some projects but this is working with a thick fleece which means it is not going to be exact, and when you are cutting out two cape pieces and two lining pieces there is no way they will all be exact and therefore will not line up perfectly. I ended up just ditching the instructions and using my own experience as a professional pattern designer to put the thing together. In the end I bought this to make dinosaur capes for my boys and I know they will love them, but honestly could have made this from a free blog tutorial or just winged it myself before paying for a download.

My daughter wanted to dress up as a dinosaur for her birthday so I was thrilled when I found this cape pattern. It is easy to follow and didn’t take long at all. I did have some trouble when it came to sewing the tail and had to partially hand stitch but it worked out just fine. It was such a success that now my other daughter and nephews all want one of their own. Also the fleece makes so super snuggly they will be great in the colder months. (I used my own eye design).

First off, to be fair the end result was cute. My toddler loves it. But if I'm being completely honest I cannot understand how this gets so many five-star reviews. Had I known that I would have to figure out the cape measurements on my own (instead of just following a pattern) I probably wouldn't have bothered. You do get a pattern for the hood and scales, but that's it. Some of the instructions were VERY confusing (especially during the figure-out-the-cape part) and I had to just defer to my own judgement. Luckily there are a few pictures that you can look at and kind of figure it out on your own. Because some of the measurements are up to you, not everything lines up perfectly - but the good news is that you're probably making it for a little kid, so they're not going to care, anyways.
