About

The Green Woman based in Shropshire, England makes homemade 100% organic, ethical products

SKIN CARE MADE WITH LOVE AND A CONSCIENCE

The Green Woman is a family business run from a 7 acre small-holding in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Shropshire Hills.

Our focus is on developing products that really work and that people love. We don’t use bulking agents or any unnecessary ingredients and our products are pure and organic, so a little goes a long way. Meaning we can use less packaging too. We never use plastic and our packaging will always be reusable, then recyclable or compostable.

Our products are 100% organic and natural. They contain no Parabens, BPAs, Aluminium Salts or any other nasties of any kind. We are against animal testing and our products are suitable for vegans.

THE FOUNDERS

The Green Woman Limited was founded in 2013 in England by two sisters Eve Carnall and Suzanne Loudwill.

Eve: 'Every time we harm our environment we steal from our future. As we transition our culture to a future without fossil fuels, I am delighted to be able to make products that are needed, and that have a lower environmental impact. Change the business not the climate.’

Suzanne: ‘Since becoming Mum of two, I’ve come to be far more aware of what I’m putting on my body and that of my family. I’ve found it difficult to find synthetic free alternatives and even harder to find something which doesn’t come with environmental impact. We have started The Green Woman to make ethical skincare accessible and to show that it is possible to make a difference and still be a great Mum.’

Additional policies and FAQs
Q. Where can I buy your products?
Our range of Fit Pit Deodorants is now available to buy online via Etsy and at our main website www.thegreenwoman.co.uk. We also have retail stockists throughout the UK. We also attend fairs and markets throughout the year. Full details of all our stockists and fairs can be found on our website.

Q. Do you only ship to the UK?
A. Yes, we hand-make our products in the UK and only ship locally to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. Change the business, not the climate.

Q. What does 100% Organic mean?
A. It means that all the ingredients that can be organic are organic. Ingredients such as minerals, salts and clays are in their pure form just as nature intended them. It also means that none of the ingredients were sprayed with pesticides or any other chemicals.

Q. Have you put your prices up?
A. The Green Woman has kept its prices the same since 2014, but is registering for VAT on the 1st February 2019, so all our prices will now include VAT, plus a small amount to reflect how our own costs have risen with inflation over the last 5 years.

Q. How long is the shelf life for Fit Pit and how should it be stored?
A. Fit Pit should be stored in a cool dark place to keep it at its best. In periods of very hot weather Fit Pit can be placed in the fridge - allow to soften slightly at room temp before use. Fit Pit has a use-by of 12 months, and if you aren't planning to use it straight away, keep it in the fridge until you are.

Q. Who is The Green Woman?
A. The Green Woman Ltd is a company that was founded in England in 2013 by two sisters Eve Carnall and Suzanne Loudwill.

Q. I left my Fit Pit somewhere warm and its melted is it still effective?
A. Yes its usually fine to keep using it, but it may not keep as long. Give it a good stir and use half as much as usual. Store somewhere cool in future.

Q. Is it normal to have some redness or soreness when using Fit Pit?
A. No it is not normal. It is rare, but if you experience any redness or soreness it may be because you are sensitive to Bicarbonate of Soda. In which case this product won't be suitable for you. Please stop using it and contact us for a refund.

Q. Which Green Projects do you support?
A. Our co-founder Eve dedicates half her time to projects against Climate Change and Suzanne's 'spare time' focus is permaculture and sustainabilty, The Green Woman helps to support this vital work. A minimum of 10% of our profits will be donated to Projects against Climate Change. Find out more on our About Us page or visit our Blog at www.thegreenwoman.co.uk/shop/blog

A. We are always happy to hear about any Green Project, and will help where ever we can. Please contact us.
