About

A hobby that got out of hand!

Even as a little girl I loved to create things. I was especially good at creating chaos and so one day, in an effort to keep me occupied, my mother bought me a big pack of plastacine. It worked a treat! I was totally hooked and it wasn't long before I moved onto polymer clay which was brilliant because you could keep the things you made. You just put them in the oven and they went hard instead of staying squishy and breakable. Wow!

When I was a young teenager I discovered the millefiori technique. I was in a hippy shop and I found this amazing polymer clay Grateful Dead pendant. It was covered in dancing bears but they went all the way through. I couldn't work out how it was made but with a bit of research I discovered how to make clay 'canes', where you build a long design up one element at a time so it is sort of a picture filled sausage.

I ended up getting through a lot of clay, and that stuff isn't cheap. I started selling my stuff to fund my hobby and have been doing so on and off for 20 years or so. Two years ago I decided to turn it into a business. I started having a stall at fairs and small festivals on the Isle of Wight, the wonderful place where I am lucky enough to live. I also opened my Etsy shop although it took me a while to fill, and to start promoting it and tending it. Now it is nicely full and more people are discovering it every day. Hooray!

You will see that there are also some of my cross sticth designs sold as patterns in my shop. This was another hobby that got out of hand and had to find a way to start paying for itself. I have had my designs published in over a hundred issues of 'Quick and easy' and 'Cross Stitcher'. I am extra specially pleased to be working for Cross Stitcher as it is such a fabulous magazine.

I am lucky enough to live a simple life filled with joy, love and happiness. I like to express this through my use of bright colours and joyful patterns. I want to make and design things which make people smile.

I want to incorporate more natural and recycled materials into my work in the future and I have recently developed an obsession with bright coloured bracelets, so I am guessing that they will be appearing in my shop before long.

Thank you for showing an interest, especially if you have read this far.
My very best wishes to you,
Fiona Crouch

I love to make things more than anything else in the world. Most of my creations are made from polymer clay, which I have been working with for more than 20 years, but I also like to play with wood, beads, stones, bottlecaps, threads and fabrics.

Shipping
I will usually ship things first class within the UK and via airmail on the fastest available rate for overseas. Packages for overseas can still sometimes take several weeks though, even with airmail, so please bear that in mind if you are ordering something for a particular occasion.

I often use recycled packaging. All items will be very carefully packaged to avoid breakages.
Refunds and Exchanges
I hope to never have to give a refund. If for some reason an order does arrive broken, or you are genuinely not happy for some other reason, I will arrange to send a replacement, give you a coupon for the same or greater value, or offer a refund if there is good reason. I will ask to see a picture in these cases though.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am so happy every time someone chooses to buy something I have taken the time to make or design. Every single customer is valued, as they are always buying something I care about.

I am also very happy to do custom orders, if you are interested.

Please message me if there is anything I haven't covered here.
