Turi Gramstad Oliver's beautiful designs for Figgjo Flint continue to be some of my favourite vintage pottery pieces. Increasingly rare, this is an amazing set of 6 cups and saucers (and more)!
My ever-changing mini museum at home...displaying favourite books, natural history finds, art, and figurines. A little brass snail lives here until it finds a new home via the shop!
I inherited one of these amazing Steiff cat puppets from my grandmother, and found the other in a flea market. Steiff mohair stuffed animals and puppets are collectible because of their quality, distinct character, and nostalgia value!

It Ain't What You Do, It's The Way That You Do It

Welcome to Northern Scout Vintage, a one-girl shop operating out of a beautiful valley in British Columbia, Canada. I'm motivated by a love of eclectic style, an appreciation for things both weird and beautiful, and a desire to do something different every day. It is crazy satisfying to rescue a long forgotten treasure from an untended corner in a flea market or estate sale, bring it home, and then match it up with a person who will love the daylights out of it. It is this aim that motivates me, and informs the way I ultimately run this show.

Alongside vintage goodies, I include a few of my own works in the mix. I love using things for unexpected purposes, combining parts from different places in oddball ways. I upholster and paint, embroider and sew, and even weld once in awhile. I think handmade pieces with personality, and old objects with a previous life are a perfect mix; combining the two is a big part of how I live my life and make my home, and how I run my business too. What you see in my shop is the result.

Returns and exchanges
I absolutely want you to be happy with your purchase. If you feel there is an issue with an item, please contact me asap. If I have somehow erred, missing a notable flaw (in spite of thorough checking) or made a mistake in listing the item (a typo in the size, for example) I will of course take full responsibility and refund or replace your item for you. In such cases, please contact me within one week of receipt of your item to arrange a refund or exchange. The same applies for (the very rare case of) a lost or broken item; all items are packed with care, and all packages fully insured against loss or damage.

If you receive your item in good condition as accurately listed, but for some reason have changed your mind about owning it, I do accept returns. I will refund the cost of the item, minus the postage paid to send the item to you, once the product has been returned to me. Please contact me within one week of receipt of the item to make arrangements. Then again, how can you not love that thing? It's amazing! :)
Please note that customers residing outside of Canada will be responsible for any duties, taxes, and/or customs fees levied on your package as it makes its way to you.

All packages to Canada and the United States are shipped via airmail. Items are shipped promptly, and generally arrive in short order, but can occasionally be delayed by customs. If you are concerned about a delayed package, please feel free to contact me.

International customers (outside of US and Canada) will receive very small and light items via airmail shipping as well. Larger / heavier items - the majority of items in the shop - will be sent via ground shipping. I can upgrade most packages for an additional cost: contact me if you'd like your items in a hurry or have any questions about international mail.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to reserve small (less than $30) items for up to 2 business days upon request. More expensive items require a 10% of list price, non-refundable deposit to be placed on reserve, with the balance to be paid at a time we agree upon. I'm amenable to accepting installment payments on larger items as well.
