As soon as I was old enough to see over the top of the quilt frame, my Nanny handed me a needle and thread to start learning to quilt. She had a machine she used to make clothes, but she harped on quilting "the right way," which meant doing everything by hand. The Hen Pen is all thanks to her and the lessons I learned from her and her quilting friends that my Papa swore he could hear "clucking and cackling" from across the yard when they'd get together every Tuesday.

Years passed, and now three boys and a husband later, I have an entire upstairs to myself and get to live my dream of taking care of my family during the daylight and then creating into the wee hours of the night. My quilts and baby goods nowadays are still made using traditional techniques but with the help of a sewing machine to insure each one will last for decades to come.

My shop has been such a blessing and the customers I've "met" over the years, many have become friends. Every single item that leaves my studio is one that you can count on being made with much love and an attention to detail. I love sharing my gift with you, and look forward to being a part of your most important life moments with the beauties I create.
