Hi, my name is Emily. As a young lady growing up on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley, I have learned the value of hard work and the beauty of nature & for this I truly feel blessed.
I am a co-owner of The Homestead Farm at Fruit Hill Orchard. My mother, Katherine and I opened our farm market in August 2016. We grow all of our produce organically and use only non-GMO seeds. Many people do not yet understand the importance of this but the concept is continuously growing. We genuinely care about people and their physical, mental and emotional well being. Food has a great effect on all of these aspects of a human & we hope that somehow (even if it may be in a small way) that we can help make the world a better place.
At our market, I make all of our candles, soaps & body products as well as our baked goods such as pies, breads, cakes, cookies, muffins, etc. I consider myself to be an artisan (a person whose occupation requires skills with the hands). Creativity is my passion but the real joy of it all is growing produce and making products that will potentially enhance the life of others.
