I love, love, LOVE, this cowl(: I was very impressed by it. It is fashionable and does its job of keeping my face and neck warm. Also, Beth was so nice as to keep me updated and answer any questions I have had. Will be definitely buying more-completely satisfied.

Here we are! Two beautiful, miracle babies; two bed-rests and lots of new skills later, The Hot Teapot is HERE!!

There is no way I would be here without two very important people in my life: Samuel and Evangeline, my babies. I, like many many women, had difficult pregnancies and coped through extensive bed-rest both in and out of the hospital for months (and months and months) by crafting.

In order to pass the time and keep my anxious mind busy, I took up these new hobbies, sitting for hours watching YouTube videos over and over. Yarn over, yarn under, repeat. Soon I learned to crochet (and better knit) and started making very wonky, distorted gifts for everyone I knew. My husband was so supportive and ran to the craft shop nearly everyday after work to collect different needles or yarn bits. Even when something was incredibly disproportionate or unraveling he admired my work and seemed to be genuinely interested in my daily accomplishments.

Once I started posting pictures on Facebook and my personal blog the requests started pouring in. I couldn't keep them straight! It was wonderful to feel the support and love of those in my life and with their enthusiasm came my shop. And from then on, The Hot Teapot has been an ever expanding reality.

A few itty bitty things I like customers to keep in mind:

- Remember Etsy is a safe place for artists to sell handmade items, please respect the heart and soul that is poured into each piece before leaving negative feedback for anyone. Every seller I have ever worked with on Etsy, unlike Ebay or Amazon, is NOT in it for the money - but to make people happy and to share their (often very personal) creative spirit! They take their work and their feedback very personally. If you are at all unsatisfied, contact the seller directly and ask for a refund or a replacement. I guarantee most quality sellers are kindhearted people who want YOU to be happy :) And i also guarantee you that a surprise negative feedback, will cause sleepless nights for most artisans.

- Custom orders are the best! Contact your favorite artist if you have an idea that is not currently available. You would be surprised at the generosity and flexibility of many artists.

- And lastly, thank you so so much for shopping handmade and vintage. There's a certain charm to such special items; a charm which is hard to come by these days.

Thanks for reading!

Most warmly,
Beth :)

I love my babies, books, coconut, cats, yarn and, of course, tea! I am an MSW and SAHM. I am working hard to balance my creative and personal spirit with my mommy/wife routines and commitments. And I LOVE Etsy! It's my anti-Amazon addiction :)
