-The House of Lumber is a one woman shop with a little bit of help from my husband. The House of Lumber is run completely out of our home and everything is made to order! Because of this, production time is constantly changing. (Exact shipping times will be given to each order via receipt once purchase is made) Keep this in mind when ordering please! Once shipped however, it will only take a couple of days to arrive. We appreciate your patience very much and hope you enjoy your handmade items!
-Please insure your address is updated BEFORE ordering - we are not responsible for packages lost due to the wrong address given. If you notice your order has the wrong shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible so we can update your order before it ships. Once your order slip is printed and or shipped there is no correcting the mistake.
-We are currently CLOSED for custom orders. At this time we are focusing all of our time and extra energy into perfecting each and every design we already offer to ensure we only send out the best of our talents.
-We do NOT accept returns or exchanges past 24 hours after ordering, as everything is made to order. We have enough info on the listings that you are able to make an informed purchase. Please message me with any questions you may have before ordering, I'm always here to help the best I can!

Frequently asked questions
Shipping Address
Please insure your address is updated BEFORE ordering - we are not responsible for packages lost due to the wrong address given. If you notice your order has the wrong shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible so we can update your order before it ships. Once your order slip is printed and or shipped there is no correcting the mistake.
Local Pickup
If you are anywhere near the 53405 area code and would like to opt out of shipping and instead pick up your purchase, you may use the code "LOCAL" at checkout to void shipping costs & we will then set up a date and time that works best to pick up your order.
Lost Package
We cannot be held responsible for any lost, rerouted, stolen and/or undelivered packages. After items leave our hands and are scanned into the USPS system, they are the responsibility of USPS to make sure they arrive at the proper destination safely.
If you feel your item is lost and 15 business days have passed since it was scanned into the system (and it does not show as delivered) please contact your local post office to file a missing item claim.
Tracking
Tracking is included in every order and once your order ships, you will receive an email with your tracking information to follow along.
If you have not received a tracking number, your item may have been put into production but is not in the shipping queue yet.
If you have received tracking, due to COVID-19 the post office has been experiencing delays in shipping so it may take a couple days to update, patience is appreciated.
If items are delayed once in transit and beyond a reasonable time, please contact USPS. I cannot be held responsible for their delays.
Shipment Damage
If your item(s) arrive damaged, please bring this to our attention within 48 hours of delivery.
We will require three (3) or more photos of the damage, including an additional photo of the packaging.
We will assess the damage and work with you to find a solution.
Shipping Notifications \ Information
Once shipped, your item should only take a couple days to arrive. I include all estimated production/shipping times in my policies and announcement to avoid any issues.
Also to remember, due to COVID, shipping companies are sometimes experiencing delays & The House of Lumber cannot be held accountable for your item once it has left our hands.
The cost to ship your sign is calculated by the weight and distance to ship from our home in Southeast Wisconsin.
You can find your cost to ship listed at the individual sign listing. This is calculated by Etsy based on your zip code.
Returns & Exchanges
We do NOT accept returns, exchanges or cancellations past 24 hours after ordering, as everything is made to order and as soon as your order is placed, most times its already being worked on.
If there was a mistake on my part, please contact me within 3 days of receiving your item so I can have it corrected and sent out as quick as possible.
I messed up my decal when I was putting it on. Can you replace it?
Unfortunately I am unable to replace your decal for issues during application. I do include detailed instructions to ensure an easy and mistake free application process. I can definitely offer a coupon code towards a new decal though!
COVID-19
I am still open for business and have made some changes on how I operate to focus on the safety of my loyal customers. Though, due to overwhelming demand and supply shortages, I am occasionally experiencing delays on material restock and item shipping. Please note that some orders will still process normally, but there is no guarantee.
