About

I am but the Clay - once broken, becoming Beautiful

I have to start off my story with giving thanks to God. I am beyond amazed that not only did God carry me through many fires and deep valleys that all but took my life (and came close to it on more than occasion), but that He is replacing all that the enemy stole, and is giving me beauty for ashes. Part of this beauty is giving me the ability and means to do what I love to do: create.

He - God, Christ - is The Immaculate Raven. When I was in the wilderness begging for death, He is the one who sent the "ravens" to feed me as I hid away. They came in many forms from His Word, to strangers, to new and wonderful friends and many other amazing and mysterious ways. He and He alone is my reason for being, doing, and becoming all that I am to become. Glory to the King.

That being said, creating is a joy of my heart. I've been doing pottery for over 12 years and dabble in other mediums as the inspiration hits. With college, crazy life issues, and family taking much of my time over the past decade, I was only able to create sporadically in my free moments - when I could find the energy. Another huge obstacle for me was having a way to complete my process; I loved doing pottery, but finding a place and time to fire it was a challenge.

But that has all now changed and the impossible has become not only possible, but my reality. I now have a small studio set up in the basement of our new home in the gorgeous mountains of North Carolina. Married to an amazing man of God who just retired from teaching, we now are creating a homestead and I - to my utter amazement - instead of having to enter back in the office, I am allowed to pursue my dreams.

Because it's not about "things", you know? It's about relationships, and growth, and beauty, and love, and thankfulness for the good in this crazy, glorious life. I am SO blessed and grateful to have the opportunity I do, with a wonderful man by my side - my heart overflows.

Back to my ART :) As of now, I'm still exploring my art. I've finally found a rabbit trail to run down, and it runs on the side of whimsical. I love fun, silly things. But I have found it takes some bravery to really explore that - so I'm just testing the waters before the full cliff dive. Who knows what may appear. :)

So... over the next few years my voice will come forth, and it's going to be a fun and intriguing journey towards it. I'd love for you to come along for the ride. But through it all, to God be the glory.

Much love,
Jessica Henderson

I typically ship only USPS standard or priority mail. Items will be shipped within 1-3 business days after purchase. While arrival of an item can generally be expected within 5-7 business days after shipping, please understand that it may take longer during busy seasons such as Christmas.

I WILL combine shipping orders if two or more items are purchased. I will contact you with the new shipping costs and refund the difference.

Please verify that your shipping address is correct. If a package is mailed to the incorrect address due to the fact it was inaccurate in your Etsy account, you will be responsible for the additional shipping costs to resend it to the correct address.

If you need to upgrade to overnight shipping, please contact me before you purchase.

Please open and inspect your pieces upon receipt, and report any damage to me within 48 hours of receipt of your package. Please include photos of the damage for insurance purposes. I will refund your money in full if you prefer, OR, upon request - I will duplicate the item (no refund, I will pay for shipping of replacement.) Please note that if you desire a duplicate that it will not be exact (that's just the way art goes), but still beautifully close, and it can take up to 4-6 weeks to have the new piece made and shipped.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, I will accept returns (minus shipping, and buyer is responsible for return shipping) and will do my best to correct the problem to your satisfaction. Please contact me within 48 hours of receiving our package with your questions and concerns and I'll be happy to work with you to come to a solution. Returns must be received within 7 days in original condition. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges associated with any returns. Original shipping costs will not be refunded.

Additional policies and FAQs
If you are sending as a gift and would like a small card with a personal message please let me know and I will be happy to include one!

I currently do not do custom work, but if you have an idea or request please feel free to send it to me and I will evaluate it based on my time, skill level, and resources and possibly work with you on it. I do love a good challenge when time and energy can afford it! But please realize pottery is not a quick process. In addition to the time spent making it, it must be fired twice. Please allow 4-6 weeks.

Thank you for checking out my shop!
