Everyone Loves an Origin Story, Right?

I spent my formative years climbing trees, reading books about fairies and princes, and pretending I was a mermaid whenever I found myself in the vicinity of water that could cover my ankles. I haven't changed all that much since then, to tell the truth. I continue to read the same sort of books and would climb any tree that looked up to the challenge. Now, though, I draw all the mermaids, fairies, and princes that live in my imagination. I began calling my budding artistry "The Inkling" after the group "The Inklings" that was founded by writers C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. Eventually the name became "The Inkling Girl", and that it shall remain.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art reluctantly earned from McNeese State University. While in school, my concentration was printmaking (specifically relief printing) but in the years since college my attention shifted from printing to painting and illustration. Most of my work is of a whimsical nature: fairies, animals, and pretty little things. I also very much enjoy portraiture, and I tend to draw inspiration from geeky television shows (i.e. Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Don't judge!).
ALL images you will find in this store are original artworks created by me, Morgan. Every image was drawn (or carved, painted, etc.) by myself, by hand.

Welcome to The Inkling Girl's world! This is where this little housewife and momma gets to stretch her artsy legs and put an old art degree to work! All the artwork you see here was made by me, by hand. I am constantly painting new things and making new pendants, but I retain digital copies of my older work. If you are wanting something not currently available in the shop, message me! I'm am happy to make custom items from retired images or custom requests.
