5 out of 5 starsI got the small Claddagh necklace in silver as Christmas gifts for my friends. Needless to say they loved them. Came in a little gift bag and a write up of the Claddagh meaning was also provided. I also got the Claddagh brooch as a gift for my great-grandma and she was very touched.

5 out of 5 starsSoooooo beautiful- I cannot express how beautiful this Irish door knocker is. The picture doesn’t do it justice. I love the antique rustic look. All the hardware is durable and complete. Dealing with the shop was so great - appreciate their kindness and assistance in picking this door knocker. Shipping was not expensive and arrived In a reasonable amount of time (coming from Ireland).
I world highly recommend this to anyone. Sorry the picture is not of it installed, but we are moving and want to wait for our new home -

The rugged west coast of Ireland holds a special place in the hearts of many.
If you know the landscape of Ireland, then you will love how good it feels to be bundled up in a Patchwork Scarf that keeps the bitter cold from blowing down your neck!
We love all things Irish, so this is a bit of Ireland that you can take with ye' everywhere ye' go!
This is an Irish made inspired shop as we have come from Co. Galway, Ireland and recently relocated to Arizona, United State now. In Ireland, the days are cool and the nights can be even chillier. For centuries, the Irish have been keeping toasty with a warm and snuggly Patchwork Scarf, so why not 'keep the tradition alive' for yourself and select a Patchwork Scarf that will remind you of Ireland forever.
We are a family-owned business and very design driven so we love to have fun with colour, texture, and everything in between!
"Céad Míle Fáilte"! – A hundred thousand welcomes!
Ireland is the land of 100,000 welcomes. Nowhere is this hospitality more evident than in the pubs, cafes, restaurants, and on village streets......and right here at The Irish Penny~of course!

Frequently asked questions
How do I wash ‘The Irish Penny’ Patchwork Scarf?
Please take care to wash your Patchwork Scarf in cool temperatures. Our preferred method is a good hand washing or spot cleaning, however, we know sometimes it might take a bit more than that. If you need the entire scarf to be washed, then place the scarf in a mesh laundry/lingerie bag OR pillowcase tied in a knot so that the stitching will stay intact. The washing machine agitation mode will be too rough and pulling on it, so give it the gentle treatment and use the delicate cycle. The cool temps will keep the colours true as well.
Are ‘The Irish Penny’ Patchwork Scarves all 'one of a kind?
Yes indeed, there will be no other Patchwork Scarf that is exactly the same. There may be very similar styles and patterns, but each one is unique and with upcycled and vintage fabrics, it would be impossible to create more than one design. So enjoy your very own style!
Does The Irish Penny offer wholesale availability?
We welcome your enquiry if you are interested in wholesale pricing as we are always pleased to have the opportunity to get more of our Patchwork Scarves around people's necks!
Does ‘The Irish Penny’ offer gift wrapping and packaging?
We generally send our packages in the Etsy style that is wrapped gifty-ish already. However, if you need a more special touch or would like to add a personalized note or card, just let us know and we can add on for a small fee.
Does ‘The Irish Penny’ offer different lengths of Patchwork Scarves?
Yes, if you need a shorter OR longer size Patchwork Scarf than we have listed, please just let us know and we will be able to get just the right length you need! We generally will ake any adjustments around here for a small extra fee!
Custom and personalized orders
We would love to create something just for you! Please let us know what you would like to see and we will do our best to accept the challenge. There will be a custom charge, of course, so we will definitely try to keep it reasonable
Where are 'The Irish Penny' Patchwork Scarves made?
All of our Patchwork Scarves are hand sewn with care right here in the studio in Co. Sligo, Ireland, true to the name of our shop!
What does ‘The Irish Penny’ mean?
First of all, the colour of the Irish Penny is a rich coppery gold- which reminds us of our children’s Irish hair. So that is where the name started for us. And speaking of Irish pennies... the Irish Penny is not a real coin anymore, actually, which makes it all the more fun to talk about. But we do know that it has a very interesting history over the years in Ireland. A 1-pence is used or 1-cent euro coin as it is currently called since 2002.
However, since 2015, transactions with the one - (and two-cent coins) have been sent out to pasture and have officially been abolished. Well, the phasing out process has begun anyways. (We still have a jar full in the scullery.) Shops will no longer be giving them in change...

more of the meaning behind the name:
...and will round items up or down accordingly. So your wallet doesn’t have to bulge with the small coppers these days.
There just aren’t as many as there were before. So that makes them a bit special. Even a penny has value, especially if you collect a lot of them. And collect them we did, to remind us of where we belong, right here in Ireland. Now, it is encouraged to donate them to your favourite charity. The Irish Penny is just a conundrum. As we finish explaining our inspiration, we can imagine that you are sitting quietly in intense concentration as you’re reading this page, so we will offer a penny for YOUR thoughts. Now you know the rest of the story.
