My business was born slowly and without a perfect plan in mind, other than that I knew there was a plan for me and it was slowly evolving (and still is...)

I've always enjoyed art. I went to Michigan State and got my degree in Advertising. I worked in Chicago for 5 years at an ad agency, but not on the creative side of advertising at all. Not so fulfilling...

I married my college sweetheart & we eventually moved back to the great state of Michigan. I was relieved to quit my marketing job when our first baby, Maddie, was born. I just didn't feel at home in the world of offices and cubicles.

I began doing murals in the metro Detroit area. My business grew slowly and steadily and so did our family - Molly & Jack were born in the following years. I kept busy with my kids but managed to continue doing murals and also canvas paintings for kids' rooms.

My business has evolved from mostly murals to mostly paintings, sold online through ebay for awhile, and now through etsy. I also sell my paintings wholesale to local retail stores. I love creating in new ways, and my recent ventures have included reclaimed wood signs, pillows and quilting, watercolor inspirational cards, mixed media paintings, and folk painting on various wood surfaces, and most recently...pottery! I haven't listed those on etsy quite yet due to the challenges of shipping.

I'm inspired by the folk art of Mexico, Scandinavia and Poland. Drawn to bold colors in nature, inspirational quotes, and whimsical folk designs that stir up feelings of happiness and joy in me, I try to recreate that in my art to bring that same joy to others.
