This brand stands for spreading BIG LOVE, one handwritten, beautifully decorated piece of art at a time.

I believe great therapeutic rewards can be uncovered through the simple act of sitting down & handwriting a note, letter or thank you, or creating something to gift to someone. For me, this hands-on, intuitive heART work has cultivated a way of life that helps me stand, even in the face of life’s most traumatic circumstances.

If you don’t have time to paint your own love letter, thank you card or smaller mixed-media canvas, perhaps you’ll consider buying one of mine. You can find them here, sometimes at local artisan markets in the Benzie County, MI area, & hopefully one day, at my studio space.

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, & began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
& you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, & a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches & stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper & deeper
into the world
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.
