A Passion For Knitting

I first learnt to knit, age 16,during a computer strike in the civil service. We did as much as we could clerically & tidying until the managers admitted defeat & said we could bring in our knitting until normality resumed. Aah, I didn't want to admit to the older women that I could only do garter stitch, & so begged my darling Granny 'teach me how to knit a jumper, please!!!'.

The strike ended but my knitting didn't! Once taught this fine art I couldn't stop, much to the amusement of my Gramps who muttered that I would surely run out of things to knit.

In the 80s it was huge mohair jumpers, quickly followed by vividly patterned geometrics & picture jumpers. I couldnt get enough of graphs!
In the 90s, when kids came along, it was jackets with dollies on & matching hats, aran duffle coats & toys galore.

A few years ago I decided to turn my passion into a little business. I still wake up thinking how lucky I am to be doing something I love.

I now sell my little knitted fancies on a few internet sites & the satisfaction of knowing someone is wearing something I've made is immense.
Who would believe you could get so much enjoyment from a couple of needles & a ball of yarn. Bliss!!
