Announcement    Welcome to The Kotton Kaboodle! Look around and see what you like!
• All listings take about 5-11 days to complete and ship (depending on size, yarn availability, and a backlog of orders). Custom orders may take longer. Please read my FAQs for more information.

• Given that all of my stuffed animals are handmade, each individual animal will be slightly different than the picture you see. I try my best to make each animal as similar to the original as I can so you can have a high quality stuffed animal!

• All of my stuffed animals are made with safety eyes with rubber backings. They will only come off if the toys are ripped apart and if you have a tool, so they are very secure for your little ones! For children under 3, please watch your child as they play with the stuffed animal just to be safe.

• All of my crochet patterns are written in English and use US crochet terms.

Check out my FAQs for some more information!

About The Kotton Kaboodle

I'm Julia, a young crocheter born and raised in California!
When I was little, I created my own newspaper just for fun called "The Kitten Kaboodle". I was obsessed with kittens at the time (they're just so cute!), and of course I didn't know how to spell that well (hence kaboodle instead of caboodle), so somehow the alliteration stuck in my mind for several years.

My crochet journey started back in 2018 when my best friend taught herself how to crochet. One day, we were playing "Truth or Dare" together and I "dared" her to teach me how to crochet as well. At first, I wasn't very good at it; but I didn't give up! After a few weeks of watching tutorials on YouTube and asking my friend for help, I was able to make a small swatch. I was so excited! Little by little I added new terms, stitches, and supplies to my tool belt and that's how I got where I am today!

Going back to the newspaper story, when I decided to sign up for Etsy (to sell a few animals so I could have more storage, and maybe earn a few extra bucks for yarn), it took me a while to pick a shop name. I wanted something fun—something cute that would stick in people's minds. What immediately popped into my mind was my newspaper, "The Kitten Kaboodle", and how that stuck with me all those years. I loved the name and decided to change it to "The Kotton Kaboodle" so it complements my products.

As I expanded my shop and grew my inventory, my love for giving to others grew as well. I also became more experienced, and was able to start writing my own patterns!
I'm very thankful for my friends, family, and the Etsy community for being so kind and helpful as I mature as an artist and pursue my crocheting journey.

I feel so blessed when a stuffed animal that I made brings another person joy! My mission is to spread smiles to everyone through my crochet stuffed animals!

Frequently asked questions
How do I access my PDF pattern?

Once you purchase, the pattern is ready for you to download in the "purchases and reviews" section of your Etsy profile. The pattern is not accessible on a mobile device, only on a desktop. If you still can't access your PDF pattern, message me and I can help you.

Do you do custom orders?

Gladly! Click the "Request Custom Order" button on my shop home page and let me know what you're interested in! Any one of my patterns that aren't already physical item listings (for example, Bree the Velvet Bumblebee has a listing for the pattern AND the physical item. Whitney the Whale Shark only has a pattern listing) I can crochet for you!

How long does it take to make a stuffed animal?

Crocheting a stuffed animal depends on the size and yarn availability. If you purchase a "Mini Creation", it may take 2-5 days. Larger stuffed animals may take longer.
If it takes 7 days or more to make your stuffed animal, this means I have had a backlog of orders. I take my time with each stuffed animal to make sure it is high quality, durable, and well made!
If your animal is for an upcoming occasion and you need it by a certain time, let me know and I'll make time to complete your order by the time you need it.

Can I sell what I make with your pattern?

Of course! But please be kind by giving credit back to me, Julia P. of The Kotton Kaboodle, and give a link back to my shop or website whenever possible.

How do I wash the stuffed animal?

- Place the stuffed animal in a pillowcase and close the hole with a hair tie or rubber band.
- Put it in your washing machine on a gentle/delicate cycle using cold water, and a very small amount of detergent.
- Tumble dry low (still in the pillowcase) or let it air dry out of the pillowcase until it is completely dry.
You may have to reshape the animal slightly.
You can surface treat any stains.
